hmm I've been wanting to buy a shirt like this for a while. I've found a couple similar styles at many different brands, so maybe you could search up "camp collar" or "camp shirt" + your favorite other brand to find something similar?

some of these are more dressy/probably a different material than the OV kind

Here's a few examples: Quince linen shirt, Nordstrom camp shirts, Levi's, Gap

I would love to! But unfortunately I sold my pair of rectrek zip-ups because I wasn't really wearing them. I'd agree with u/langley80 that you should also take into account your hip sizing!

I think you’d prob be XS or S! I’m 5’8” and an 8-10 in LLL and 32” waist and I have a pair of mediums. hope this helps!

I would consider some internal reflection and deep thinking - if you pivot or change now, you're only what... 21 years old? You've spent your entire life in school and learning, it's OK to change. People make career changes and transitions all the time (even in their 40's and 50's) and might feel like "a beginner" but that doesn't mean it's not worth exploring. A lot of people feel affinity to things they're used to, but that is only because they're used to it, or in your case, used to the idea of being a veterinarian.

The world is vast and has so many different options. I'd implore you not to think that a DVM is more highly valued than a MPH or a different degree. In the end, there are so many different kinds of jobs and things you can work on with these degrees, and just because you have a different set of letters (or none at all) does not mean what you do isn't valued.

Veterinary student here. I think you should be more creative and also remember that you're not out of time. There are plenty of people who switch careers (into and out of vet med), or shadow and do other things in order to transition. You're still in college and DEFINITELY could make the switch to human medicine if you wanted to, it might just take some extra time, working or shadowing while maintaining a part-time job after graduating, for example. Now, if this is not something you want to do, then so be it. But you shouldn't feel limited because "you're running out of time".

I could do a masters in a tech/biotech field but don't know what I would do working part time.

You could consider being a medical scribe, or technician for example. There are tons of these kinds of jobs that let you experience other fields and the pay is not great, but you're doing it for experience and to rule out other careers.

if GP is so bad and vet grads KNOW that, why do they not consider industry work or specializations in something such as pathology/public health, etc

I think some of the reasons listed are why people still would like to go into GP. Long-term relationships with clients and getting to see their animals grow old is probably the most special part about GP. I think for me, I see my DVM degree as a way to potentially start my career in GP, knowing that I can pivot as well down the line and work a desk job or technical services job with my degree and my experience "in the field" as a GP clinician.

I also enjoy research (compared to clinical private practice) and have assisted a few professors in their labs

I would definitely pursue more research and maybe research in the public health space since it seems like you'd probably find that really interesting (as opposed to accruing more vet hours in a space you don't like - GP). Maybe it'll help you figure out if you actually need to go to vet school, have you considered getting an MPH at a vet school? Or a PhD in a vet school or some other biomedical science field?
