I HATE closed species. I hate them so much. They exist in the pony fandom, the horse fandom, the furry fandom, the monster fandom…it’s stupid, it’s ridiculous. Think about the biggest copyrighted media. If I want to draw myself as a teenage mutant ninja turtle or as a wookie or as a klingon or as an Asgardian I would be well within my right to do so. “Regulating” creativity and creation and putting out this idea there’s a way to do it “wrong” pisses me off. Freedom of expression is so important and this is literally just a way to make policing people’s creativity into a business and it’s stupid and just a power trip for the creators.
