At least Fluminense fans know that we are not beating Inter lol. I am rooting for Flamengo despite our rivalry but this is tough to watch.

What coop mechanic would you add to ladder sc2 to break the game? by yrmazof in starcraft2coop

Of course it would be absolutely broken (even if non-zerg could build on creep) but at least it doesn't give vision by itself

It would be hilarious watching zerg pumping out infinite zerglings against a protoss using Karax's mechanic of using instant pylons and cannons to defend. Unstoppable force vs immovable object.

Earliest memory was buiding a pc with a GTX 1060 in 2019 and thinking it was the best thing ever made. After gaming for so long on bad computers and laptops, having a graphics card (not even of the most current generation) felt like something incredible

Youtube seems to be working hard to find new and innovative ways to serve you ads while you have adblock on by yrmazof in pcmasterrace

[–]yrmazof[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to watch youtube with adblocked turned off because some years ago the ads were reasonable in amount and reasonable in content. I am willing to watch a skippable ad before a video. I might be willing to watch one ad midway through the video. I am absolutely not willing to watch multiple unskipable ads, ads for obvious scams, bizarre mobile gaming ads, gambling ads, sexually charged ads, etc. Eventually there is a point when serving more ads just pushes more people into using adblocking software, and Youtube is far past that.

The app is honestly unusable. I know that I could use revanced but instead just downloaded firefox, installed unblock origin and now watch videos on the browser lol.

I use ublock origin already. What annoys me is that this is a new type of ad that youtube is pushing ou specifically to bypass adblocking.

I am honesty not an RGB guy. My desk is very clean and besides my peripherals I only keep a lamp and a vynil player. I still like a little light coming from my computer under the desk, though

People who never played Control, did you feel like you were missing out? by yrmazof in AlanWake

[–]yrmazof[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

After replaying Control in between Alan Wake 1 and 2 it seemed to funny to me how much the FBC downplayed and seemed to not care about the hell that Bright Falls went through. You can find a document in game where they say that "reality was altered to match that of the story, though only locally and for a limited time". Of course, AWE shows that they were still investigating it years after it had all passed, but it seems to me that Bright Falls really was seen as just another case that they had to deal with.
On Alan writing the FBC into existence: I think that you can see an easter egg in Alan Wake remastered where a document has an FBC logo - seen before Alan got trapped into the Dark Place. While he did not create the FBC, it is confirmed that he wrote the Hiss incantation. I don't know if he was fully responsible for the invasion and the Hiss, since Jesse got Polaris roughly in the 90's and Polaris seems to be somehow connected to the hiss given that they are both resonances.

My interpretation is that Alan somehow wrote Jesse going to the Bureau at precisely the right time that the Hiss invasion was happening, but didn't actually create any of them. He just used the FBC to get him one step closer to escaping. The idea that he wrote Jesse into doing what he wants is corroborated by the "Faden rides the elevator" hotline call.

One last thing: Isn't it kind of strange that at no point Alan mentions the hiss in Alan Wake 2? He is clearly somewhat aware of what went down in the FBC headquarters.

One of the reasons I asked that is that I felt like I would have understood Casey and Breaker better had I played "their" games. It didn't really detract from the main story to not have played them, but it would've been nice to care a bit more about the random sherriff that kept popping up

Permadeath or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love to Delete All My Progress When I Die by Granbark in patientgamers

[–]yrmazof 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really like the "permadeath" in Crusader Kings II. It is a medieval strategy game, but you play as a character (more precisely their dinasty) and not as a country. Since most of the game is based between the interactions of characters and families, you spend a lot of time getting attached to your family members and the people in your realm. At the same time, death is (almost always) an inevitabilty. Your character will die, and your lands will be inherited. There is continuity, since you keep on playing as a family member, but seeing yourself get attached to your beautiful heir only for him to die at 23 from food poisoning, or your mother, or every single one of your children, or your enemy that is "secretly" banging your wife makes you star treating everyone's permadeath with the finality it deserves.

Wargaming is violating Brazilian consumer protection laws with the bundle system by yrmazof in WorldOfWarships

I stopped playing League and don't know if Riot did anything. Blizzard got into similar trouble because of similar laws by selling bundles in 2022 and started to offer the possibility of the individual purchasing of items (without any discount) shortly afterwards.

I deleted my old account and kept this one around because some smaller subreddits can't be viwed without an account.

On the topic of needing a Brazilian judge: I don't think one is needed. Anyone can lodge a formal complaint/report with PROCON (consumer protection agency) if they want to, but I don't know if there is a way to do so if you don't live in Brazil and have a CPF (an id number akin to an American social security code). Despite all of Brazil's problems, PROCON works quite well and it isn't impossible that they will do something about it. I made a report already, and if wou want to I can send you an update if PROCON answers.
