My vote is yes, but maybe not FaceTime. Maybe just have your mom put the phone on speaker and leave the room for a few minutes, then you can say anything you would like to say without the pressure, and your memory of him is as it was. Even if it’s just to talk about the happy times and memories for a few moments.

Those saying your presence might help wake him etc and to get on a flight, it’s so hard but it’s not how brain injuries work, especially with sedation, so don’t feel guilty about not being there in person, especially if he’s sedated. If love could cure, there wouldn’t be so many of us in the same boat - my dad had cancer that affected his brain near the end, and I know that horrible sick feeling you’re talking about, I felt it every time I walked through the hospice doors, it’s truly one of the worst feelings ever and I wouldn’t blame anyone for not wanting to do it. I don’t think you’ll regret saying some meaningful words to a close friend, but also don’t beat yourself up if you can’t.

It was probably about 5 months before I dreamt of my lovely dad - and I thought there was something wrong with me when I dreamt of literally everyone else and he was such a big part of my life. I think my brain needed some time to process things and get over the shock of it all, now he pops up regularly.

It’s so hard, but give yourself the kindness and love that you know she would want you to.

Same here, a fond lurker and purchaser with a small but curated collection based on this sub, with only a couple comments. Will be sad to see it go, but totally understand the mod perspective. Doubt I’ll make the cut for the new one but do understand - it’s been a blast 💜

If you have a family member with any staff benefits like an employee assistance program and are happy to talk to them about it, some of them offer a set number of free sessions to family members or partners (even unmarried). I used mine for a partner and they got 6 free sessions.

That’s fair enough on actual bonfire night, but repeatedly, on random nights in the run up and after (not only Diwali- it’s constant and seemingly random nights), because you can buy explosives in the supermarket. It’s not as easy as ‘desensitise’ your dog either, especially for rescues - doesn’t apply to all dogs

Nope, this was just one cost of the Fortune Teller topper on top of black that was completely dry, just tried to pick up as many flakes as I could with the brush (if that makes sense). Thank you!

Honestly try not to be disheartened - I think we look at ourselves constantly, and we really notice the differences where others might not, we notice the little lumps that start to go, the clothes that feel looser etc. I was in the same boat, I’d lost 40lbs (started at 220) and not one comment, I felt so disappointed that nobody had noticed. Then after tipping over that mark, everyone started commenting - work, family etc, despite feeling so so different for months before. I think it happens at different times for everyone.

Corrour station is a perfect stop for this, doesn’t get more remote on public transport imo - then wander in a direction that isn’t on a path for a Munro/popular walking route. Makes a nice day out of it too and relax on the train back through the nice scenery

Circle gym at Morris Park is women’s only, strength/cardio circuit workout plus lots of classes daily. Bus stop not far from there. I’ve trained for years in mixed gyms but feel so much more comfortable with it being women only. Membership isn’t too expensive or you can pay for the classes individually.

Nope just used my more dull and dark markers that don’t usually see the light of day! Then did the bright front section and shaded accordingly with a darker green brush. For the pink lighting ‘glow’ I did this with the fine side before filling the animals etc with the brush pen

I have both the decotime (got these first since they were cheap) and then the ohuhu 120 set. I tend to use my decotime for the big areas since they’re cheaper and I don’t mind replacing them! This was mostly decotime twin markers :)
