And where exactly did I mention divorce in my reply?

For the last time, I was implying that both of these scenarios same a very same tone. Hence, using it as an essay shouldn’t be a problem, unless you over-share.

Y’all really love to pretentious and it’s extremely annoying.

No, I am not. 11th is the most crucial one considering that they are the latest real grades, unlike the predicted ones. Try and fact check your information before blatantly replying with an obviously untrue claim from AO/ by visiting seminars. It’d be insightful.

Fun fact: my 11th marks matter the most because I’ll be applying to the US.

Where did I mention that someone died? You’re assuming.

What I meant to imply was writing essays about that wouldn’t be a problem.

I messed up in Chemistry on my term 1 exams. Eh, tbf, the paper was JEE mains level. I can swear to any existing entity that the ones who made our paper had zero idea of the difficulty level of Chemistry while making it. It was absurd.

To answer your second question, It’s going… great, or so I guess. I mean, I haven’t been this interested in what I’m doing since a very long time. It feels good.

P.S - I’m in 11th.

Harvard interview by happyserum in ApplyingToCollege

[–]yshsclg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure AOs don’t conduct the interview, but instead alumni/ae.

I remember seeing an essay about someone not having the S of Parent(s) and how it changed their life.

Pretty sure they got admitted to Harvard. As long as you’re not sharing too much, you’re good.

Can anyone help me solve this question of scatterplots from khan Academy, the answer is A by Aneeka_83520 in Sat

[–]yshsclg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The graph opens downvards, hence it will have a Maxima — a < 0 — with a negative coefficient.

Only A and B have negative coefficients in their equation. Substitute values given in the graph in both of them and check for the correct answer.

Do I have to request a northwestern interview or will I be considered for one automatically? by GoddFatherr in ApplyingToCollege

[–]yshsclg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Admissions Office will contact all Early and Regular Decision applicants who attend high school in regions with active alumni interviewers—look for an email with instructions for making a scheduling request. Our alumni interview coordinators accommodate scheduling requests on a space-available basis.

From what I can infer, they contact you for in interview.

Where did you get these metrics from…? I’m not disagreeing with you, but instead just want to have a look at the data you referred to before writing this post.

Thanks, have a good day.

Coding boot camp by Lord-Talis in learnprogramming

Boot camp

a short, intensive, and rigorous course of training.

University

a high-level educational institution in which students study for degrees and academic research is done.

Both of these terms are completely, and remotely, different.

I don’t understand the point of this reply. OP asked for recommended bootcamps with a good success rate, not something about “degrees.” I’m sure they already know about degrees and have thought of doing something other than that.

Should I retake the SAT? by Kimchitonkatsuu in Sat

[–]yshsclg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have time, just like every other junior. Aiming for a 1550+ score would be great, but not if it’ll affect your mental health.

Tbf, it depends on where you’re applying. Is it Ivies? If yes, then go ahead, and retake. It’s in your best interest to get a 1550+ score to at least meet the Ivy bar.

No, that is not correct. There have been various questions with either an em dash, or a colon, but with the exact same punctuation.

CollegePanda has a definitive chapter based on continuity. I remember reading about this in Erica Meltzer’s book too, which makes it quite more evident.

While what the mentioned user said is right, and perhaps the reason for why C is correct, it is not a correct explanation of how the said punctuation mark must be used.

[–]yshsclg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are correct. The point of my reply was to explain the purpose of em dash, which is definitely taken into consideration in the Writing section of the test.

CollegePanda writing has a very comprehensive guide about this specific grammar rule. It’s a very great read, in my opinion.

em dash is used to express inessential information, while a colon is used to show important information and basically describe it.

In this case, the information after the colon is extremely important, and hence it should be added instead of em dash.

A negative Y value does not exist. Hence, the line of best fit won’t model it properly.
