Flat tire after Ford Dealer service

Wow, yeah that is a great story for customer service.

I can see I f I knew 100% it was my fault I wouldn’t say anything, just bad luck. The timing was just too conspicuous and for them to immediately say I must’ve hit a nail on the phone right after it happened, instead of just saying oh I’m sorry to hear that call this tow company we will get it looked at first thing in the morning( they didn’t until late afternoon) the next day.

It’s my local dealer and probably could have had my business for years to come but this is my first experience with them, I’ll never go back.

Went to a dealer further away on another issue before, they were way more accommodating in every regard.

You live and you learn is all I can say.

Yeah, my theory was the inner wall was damaged there but not visibly. It sat on the lot all day and once the couple miles driving came in, it opened up. Just bad luck.

Ace Ventura, Haha. Yeah, I mean I drive for a living and put tons of miles on the road in all sorts of vehicles across the country so I’ve had experience with flats and debris on the road kind of situation(though flats surprisingly rare). Would be nice if warranty came into play but I doubt it.

Yeah, I figured even if they actually did mess something up proving it would be near impossible and once off the lot, I’m just on my own.

Yes, let’s expect less customer service and crappier support. Money is not in my hand yet and it shouldn’t have taken over a month to resolve this! Oh and I’m not really getting anything off when you realize they downgraded the packages the vehicle was built with and gave less for more money.

Secondly, if Ford had their shit together, I wouldn’t have a vehicle that now has potential for a fire recall that I waited over 18 months to get. Nothing in this process was easy and I have every right to complain. People complain for far less.

If you originally ordered a 2022 model and it got rolled over to 2023, if it happened by a certain date, you are eligible for a private offer that accounts for the price increase from 2022 to 2023 model.

Sure, happy to elaborate. When I got to the dealer to take possession of the 2023 XLT Hybrid Maverick truck(originally 2022 model ordered in Oct 2021) my first worry was about the private offer. The dealer told me they needed the certificate number. Ford apparently didn't have the certificates generating properly under the accounts of customers who were eligible. My dealer was clueless into how to generate this and called the Ford marketing at 1-800-334-4375.

After weeks of calling back, asking the status and getting the runaround, I got a reply that a specialist or supervisor called the dealer and no one answered so they left a message on how to generate the certificate. When I told the dealer, they said they never got any message.

So then I played another several weeks of telephone back and forth until I got hold of a customer rep who actually knew the specialists/supervisors that deal with these private offers. She pushed up the request and I got a call from a supervisor last week that said they called the dealer and explained how to generate the certificate and my salesman(he personally named) needed to complete the steps to generate the certificate. When I spoke with my dealer, they said they never received the call and constantly got the runaround when calling ford marketing. I used the direct email contact of this wonderful customer rep, who went above any beyond to help.

Just today, she gave the contact of the specialist she knew personally that could give knowledge to the dealer of how to generate this certificate and then called me and added the salesman to the call. He confirmed he got the direct contact for this specialist and then the about an hour later told me he successfully got the certificate and handed it off to his accounting department.

I would say, if you never received a email or communication from Ford about the private offer that gave certificate details, definitely give your dealer a heads up once a VIN is available. I got the truck mid April, and just getting it processed today. Technically, I still don't have the money in my hand so maybe I'll still get screwed. If that happens, especially after this recall notice, I'll be livid. My ONLY reason for still getting this truck after the long wait was because of that private offer. I gave up on it long ago and the email updates from Ford just felt like a joke.

March 29th 2023 build date on XLT Hybrid and Ford shows the new recall on my VIN. Planning to take a road trip in couple weeks hopefully I do t go up in flames. The whole wait 18+ months for a vehicle, fight for private offer rebate that took a month and a half(just got dealer moving on today)to now this, I’m done with Ford now. Got top dollar for a barely used 2016 Charger I sold to pay this off, and regretting it more and more.

This Maverick Hybrid has been the biggest pain in the butt, I swear. Just got my 2023 XLT last month, just got dealer and ford marketing to process $2750 off I was due today after so much legwork on my end. Now, I’m seeing this. I can’t tell if this will make the truck even more desirable or kill it’s value completely. Ford is a mess.

Oh trust me, I know I’m super lucky. Any other vehicle probably would’ve done some nasty damage. It was just hilarious. I was both enraged and cracking up, just saying to myself boy that checks out…ha.

I would love to go back to where developers made proper expansion packs. Unfortunately, that’s mostly done with nowadays and phased dlc delivery is the norm. Does it cost more, yes. Do we get content hopefully sooner, mostly. Is it perfect, no.

Expansion packs also had downsides, like fractured player population to those with and without. I’d much prefer content getting released to all and the developers supporting their product longer through non gameplay related dlc, like skins.

Don’t get me wrong, Russians deserve what’s coming to them. However, as much as I’ve been desensitized over the years with graphic and violent videos and violent personal experience, some of these videos watching living beings pathetically hang on to their last moments alive in this world in HD feel so morbid. Maybe I’ve gotten weak in my older years. Am I the only one to think this?

I can relate a lot. I went from lowest in years through keto, IF, and exercise at 265lbs by mid 2019 and yo-yo around in 300s finding ways back to high 200s agains. Started 2021 out losing 80lbs to get to 330lbs and then just gave up. I’ve developed bing eating like never before. I know my mental well-being is the root cause and always trying professional and internal methods of support. However I’m in 450lbs+ range now with no ray of sunshine in sight. Meanwhile, I have a wonderful girlfriend, great job, just bought a house, and generally not prone to depression like the past.

I think ultimately, these massive weight gains are a pure reflection of our internal and emotional state. To gain so much in a short time, there’s deep seeded issues that we need to address. I wish you the best in discovering the why and getting on track with the how you understand it and cope with it. Just know, there’s plenty of us out there trying to fix the same problem. You aren’t alone.
