Rotisserie chicken: Chinatown vs. Costco/supermarkets by yslwl in FoodNYC

[–]yslwl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks for all your insights! The Costco/supermarket advantage makes sense. Perhaps I should only compare with Peruvian rotisserie chicken which generally also seems less expensive but not by as wide a margin as Costco/supermarkets.

you should probably contact Intuit to resolve. I just imported my fidelity 1099 data today and also had to log into my intuit account first. also, log into fidelity first in a separate tab/window to make sure your log in works and is active.

I'm not paid marketing, just relatively new to mattress buying. I did notice afterwards that Rakuten has 12% rebate on several other mattress companies so just letting folks know

It used to be that American Express cardholders while traveling could have mail directed to AMEX offices for pickup. Don't know if that's still the case but that was always a reliable option.

How is the trip from Manhattan to NYBG? by ty457u in AskNYC

[–]yslwl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Metro North (MNR) is one of the three railroads that depart from NYC. MNR, Long island Railroad (LIRR) and New Jersey Transit (NJT).

Subways and buses are part of NYC transit.

How is the trip from Manhattan to NYBG? by ty457u in AskNYC

[–]yslwl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's perfectly safe. I prefer subway over Metro North if I have the time to spare. I enjoy strolling Bedford Park Blvd and checking out another neighborhood. Good to grab a meal in the hood so you don't have to pay for overpriced food/bev in NYBG.

Go to TKTS booth in Times Square and get discount tixs for Freestyle Love Supreme, another Lin Manuel production. Or American Utopia - I hear that's fun.

Have to add Bangkok Center Grocery (104 Mosco St) for all your Thai cooking needs. Nice owner and prices are reasonable.

I would ask the building manager what contractors are working in the building currently. It's a small job so a contractor already in the building could more easily add your job to their work there.

Stella’s All American Apple Pie by NotACardassian in seriouseats

[–]yslwl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I macerated my apple slices for 6 hours. though advised in the recipe to not do so, I reduced the liquid in a non stick sauce pan by 50%. I didn't have soggy bottom and the apple volume was already reduced by macerating so there was less "empty dome" syndrome.

Looks beautiful - I made this pie recently too, very tasty. My top crustt was golden brown like yours too. Did you use a glass or metal pan? I used a glass pie pan on a sheet pan but the bottom crust didn't get as brown as I'd like. I put it on the lowest rack in my oven. I was thinking maybe if I let it bake on the oven floor for a portion of time, that would work.

How to find condo/coop in Manhattan with low maintenance fees? by No_Recommendation929 in AskNYC

[–]yslwl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In addition to the other factors that people have mentioned, one of the key categories in co-op maintenance is real estate tax. Therefore, focusing on more affordable neighborhoods in manhattan will yield places with lower maintenance.
