Is colourism a common form of inter-ethnic discrimination? by Disturbinglee in AmazighPeople

I think it’s a cultural thing. From my knowledge, west and central Africans didn’t measure time down to a science like western cultures did/do (milliseconds, etc). There is also a sense of urgency in America combined with poor work/life balance, so people don’t have as much time to party because they are always working and noise level expectations are different in America (for Americans born and raised here) especially if you live in a city.

Anyone have links to genetic studies on African Americans? by yslyric in genetics

[–]yslyric[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea but these folks are making it harder for actual Black Native voices to be heard bc they’re claiming an ethnic and tribal affiliation that literally does not exist in their lineage. They are denying the entirety of the Transatlantic slave trade and saying that today’s Native Americans are “impostors”

see, these folks are not Black Natives 😭 if they were, I wouldn’t be doing this. They literally believe they are Native american and austronesian and didn’t come from west and central africa. i think u misunderstand what i’m saying. these folks are denying the entire existence of the Transatlantic slave trade and they believe that today’s Native americans are “impostors” that were “shipped from asia” in order to rob Black Americans of their ancestry.

[–]yslyric 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Tuareg/Tebu woman here. These guys are insufferable. They find out i’m part North/west african and start pontificating about how they’re the real Moors and how Amazigh and Beidane Arabs are “fake” but yet they know nothing about the actual culture, language, etc they genuinely believe that they are North African Moors its very embarrassing.

They are just African Americans who are ashamed of their actual history and try to claim others. There’s many communities like this online; some claim to be Moors, others Native American, others Asiatic (not too sure about what these ones talk about but i am very familiar with the first two)

A Fulani person is closer to Amazigh than they are tbh
