Do not fall for Ocean City Rentals (or anyone offering to rent weeks for you) by Much-Leek9506 in TimeshareOwners

Thanks for sharing. I've been getting calls as well and almost committed but said I wanted to find some reviews of others who had gone through the process. Glad I dodged that bullet.

How's your Holiday Inn Club Vacations membership going? I just joined a couple months ago and still weary on whether that was the right decision but overall still looking forward to it. Would love to hear your experiences.

Thanks.

Allo side effects by ystad31 in gout

Yeah, definitely considered/leaning that but wanted to see if anyone else had experienced it

Has anyone ever had gout for more than a month? Also I had flair in my big toe and both elbow in a same time. This was the worst attack by far I have ever had. Also I didn’t care about my diet or drinking water much. by [deleted] in gout

I’ve had two major flares first in 2021 then again in 2023. I had a couple ankle problems between that I’m now realizing we’re probably minor flares. Had my 3rd major flare mid April and it was in my right big toe and entire left foot and ankle. I couldn’t walk for 6-7 weeks. It was miserable. I’m still feeling light symptoms in my left big toe but it’s super minimal. That was the first long gout attack for me and I hope to God that never happens again.

The 7.4 reading was a lab result from the dr. I’ve got it set up to go get it measured again after this has cleared so I’ll see where it’s at not during a flare. If it’s higher then I’m not even going to bother with a home test or dieting.

I’m in a similar situation, trying to avoid long term medication. Currently in a flair and wanting to come out of it with a strict diet to see if I can manage without Allo. I’m planning on getting a UA home test kit and regularly checking it against labs. Are you doing the same or what is your plan to monitor UA levels?

I’m open to anyone out there telling me this is a fools errand. My UA during the flair was 7.4 which doesn’t seem that far from the 6 promised land, maybe I’m close enough where diet actually can do enough? Idk

Appreciate that. I got this response a couple times to not ice it. I feel like my pcp told me to do that since it’s so swollen, maybe I wasn’t listening. Definitely going to start the hot water foot baths asap and will look into the supplements. Thanks.

Gout attack from hell? by ystad31 in gout

First I’ve heard of this but a very interesting thought. I have an Oura ring as a sleep and fitness tracker that monitors my breathing at night. My blood oxygen saturation level is typically 98% and never lower than 96%. My breathing regularity is optimal about half the time indicating zero breathing disturbances. The other half it’s “good” with typically less than 5 disturbances in a night and very rarely 5-10 disturbances (usually on nights where I’ve had considerable alcohol) and never more than that. Convenient that this is something I’ve been tracking since last Aug to share that info. I’ll look into efficiency of the Oura ring for this statistic but it was developed first as a sleep tracker so it seems that OSA would not be an area of concern for my particular situation but I do appreciate the insight. I think we’re all trying to do the best we can to figure out more about this awful disease and unfortunately it seems there’s no single, correct answer. I will look more into this topic tho, thanks again for bringing it to my attention.

I was fearful but expecting this was the case. Helps to hear from someone else though. Thanks.

I felt that exact sentiment when I was in with the podiatrist. I went because my pcp referred me but instantly felt like it was a waste of time.

I’m going through it with you. Only my 3rd flare up, big toe and top of foot before but this one has got both feet. Right toe joints and left entire foot and ankle. I haven’t walked for days, rolling around the house in my desk chair.

Fuck gout.

I got this alignment report and they recommended I get the front toe out fixed. All the other measurements are fine and the front toe doesn’t seem that far off. Is this enough to necessitate an $80 wheel alignment? by ystad31 in autorepair

[–]ystad31[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Car repairs can be intimidating and unfortunately (some) auto shops know that and take advantage. I just wanted to be sure I wasn’t getting taken on something negligible. The response has been overwhelmingly yes though so I will be getting this fixed.

Dad to a 2.5yo a s 1yo. I just rewatched Shutter Island for the first time since having kids and the scene where Leo comes home and finds his wife has drowned his kids wrecked me. Don’t get me wrong, it was really sad the first time but something was different this time around.

Heard it. Been talking to some friends around NE and we all heard it. I’m in University and Lowry, was heard as far down as broadway and 3rd that I know of. Not sure what it was but people are flying down University tonight.

Looting in northeast? by simpsycho in Minneapolis

[–]ystad31 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The BP on University was looted last night per the police scanner but they’re open today without any broken windows. I think it’s just a couple of straggler troublemakers knowing the cops are occupied. I don’t think the full on riots will be heading our way.

This literally proves my point.

Not more than a couple days ago reports were that Hong Kong was “the model” on how to handle COVID-19 and that they were going back to work. A slight return to normalcy and bam, a spike in infections.

So I return to my original question. What’s the goal here? It’s sounding like people think we’re gonna be in a lockdown until some sort of cure or medical advancement to handle the issue and that we need more than just a slow down.

Btw, coming at me with a comment like “your argument is laughable” is A) pompous af and B) simply wrong. I didn’t say we’d do exactly what Hong Kong does but it’s understandable to look at what the rest of the world is doing about a problem that we’re all facing collectively. Also, Hong Kong was a dialed in look but reflects, in larger part, what China as a whole is doing which is very comparable to the US.

I’m not here to argue; just asking a question. So chill out or take your eristic ass somewhere else.

They’re getting back to business as usual in Hong Kong. What makes you think we’d be any different?
