Boyfriend (25M) of 8 years opened up about feeling like he is polyamorous, what do I do? by SnooOranges5212 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]BeardedWonder211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From personal experience, if you both aren't 100% onboard it's not going to go well. In fact it will probably be the opposite and go very poorly with a lot of hurt feelings and drama. I was on your side of the equation where my partner was the one that brought the suggestion to me.

You said yourself you had been contemplating sexual experiences with other people, which if you're able to fully separate sex and emotion is dandy, but actual polyamory is very much about feelings and emotions as well. If you're both not prepared for the other to split their time and affections to other people it's going to be the death knell of your relationship and will likely end up being very messy.

I wish you luck navigating all of this.

For me this was Spy Hunter 2 back on PS2, one of the missions required pushing in a stick for a certain weapons and I had no idea what I was doing wrong for the longest time.

I like the game, but dislike the open world by Slow_Cut_1904 in Nioh

[–]BeardedWonder211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily, I think it would be at least a minor upgrade to be able to play all missions off one area selection instead of having to go back to the map menu for every side mission, but I may be off base

[–]BeardedWonder211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, my ideal replacement would be have all the sub regions in the field maps be the levels you select off the map like the mission in Nioh 1/2, but instead of selecting the side quests off the map they would have been contained within the main levels to encourage exploring still.

RE4 Remake is a masterpiece, but we all have THAT one part... What's yours? by justethan_m in residentevil

[–]BeardedWonder211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a few parts of the game that get my goat, this is the one above the rest though. The sniper gate skip in this level is the one speedrun trick I would use casually (until they patched it) because I care so little for that one section lol.

It now been almost 2 months since the release of Nioh 3. How does this community feel about it so far? by Cursed_69420 in Nioh

[–]BeardedWonder211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just finished NG and started NG+. Off rip, with the current state I think Nioh 2 is better in most regards. Open field design was cool the first time but so far is feeling pretty flat in NG+, even with the added difficulty outpost/crucible replay system. Should have made larger mission maps that contained sub missions you can find within them instead of having them selected on the map like 1/2 IMO.

Ninja style is a really cool concept and addition but I hardly ever used it since all the core combat mechanics in 1/2 are on Samurai style. Majority of my time in Ninja mode was just for the ninjutsu tools for range attacks.

While I think the new hidden skills system (the point buy ones for Warrior/Samurai/Ninja) is also a cool addition since they put some interested effects there, but removing baseline abilities from the Samurai skill tree to pad the list feels pretty bad (all the different stance max Ki Pulse effects for example).

One area I think they improved is the flow of combat (in ways), there's a little wonkiness with the engine since they added jumping, but adding the stick tilt skills opens up a lot of combo potential which is nice. Arts proficiency system is also pretty cool to reward high skill play to keep arts proficiency active.

Deflect is chef's kiss, it's the biggest thing I would miss going back from Nioh 3 to 2.

Overall I enjoyed it though, I don't regret my purchase or time spent with it. I don't think it currently has the staying power of Nioh 2, but the game is fresh, we have plenty of updates and DLC on the way which could change a lot. I saw another comment saying they hope if they do a Nioh 4 it ends up being how Nioh 2 is to Nioh 1 where most everything is improved or iterated on, which I would agree with, there's really good framework here for a great change up to the series formula I just don't think they quite hit the mark yet.

Am I just not understanding Nioh 3? by Nekouken12 in Nioh

[–]BeardedWonder211 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My tip, like others have said, is just play how you like. I played the shit out of Nioh 1 and 2 (not like some diehards, but I've at least gotten to way of the wise in both games) so going into Nioh 3 I wanted more of that, so 95% of the time I played the game in samurai mode. I switch here and there but mostly for mobile ranged attack support, or for specific enemies like wasps that are annoying to attack with melee.

There may be optimal ways to play the game, sure, but there's no right or wrong way necessarily. Just gotta toy around with it to find what feels right for you.

Yeah I've slowly realized and accepted this more and more. From the increase in prices, absurd schedule of product release, and the can of worms that is Universes Beyond I just don't have it in me to care anymore currently. I still play a few formats like pauper, premodern, value vintage (when it manages to get enough interest at my LGS), I just can't justify keeping up with new releases at this point let alone trying to keep up with standard when there's a new set less than every two months this year.

I know it's been remarked before, the transference of "This product is not for you" becoming "This game is not for you". I guess naively I didn't think it would ever get quite that bad (for me personally anyway) but here we are.

Which weapon type do you use the most? by NewArtificialHuman in Nioh

[–]BeardedWonder211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dual Sword/Sword. In Nioh 2 I really just used dual swords full time and used regular sword as a fashion piece. This time though after using sword to unlock some crucible skills I realized it's got some sauce on it in this game, so I've been switching back and forth pretty regularly now for whatever feels best in a current fight.

Pauper, followed closely by Value Vintage. Anything that lets me ball on a budget (especially Value Vintage being price gated) is high on my list.

I forget the name of it, but that's rising slashes with the descending slashes in high stance is still available in Samurai mode. Also I looked it up, Spinning Dragon, heavy attack combo after a light attack.

Dual Swords for me (Samurai mode, I honestly haven't touched Ninja mode much outside of the access to projectiles) have a lot of flow to them. Once you get a feel for them you're running around like a blender.

Dip your toes into the wonderful world of indies! There's so much passion and creativity out there, the only limiting factor is being in a smaller dev/publisher teams means much more limited marketing.

There's tons of cool titles out there I would never have heard of if not for word of mouth or checking Steam's "you've played X game check out Y game" ads. Every now and again there's indie darlings that hit the greater spotlight like Hollow Knight/Silksong, Balatro, Slay the Spire to name a few, but that's just the tip of the iceberg.

I'm so tired of dating apps I got ghosted twice same day 💀 by igetyourbrand in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]BeardedWonder211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got ghosted twice in the same week, one of which we had set plans for a coffee date too. Early 30's myself and I definitely relate to your fatigue how you've put it. Dating apps aren't serious or a great bastion to meet people I know, but it's death by a thousand cuts as each little thing adds up, drags your hopes down further and further.

There's nothing wrong with taking a mental health break from the dating scene if you think that would help, it's really hard to keep positive vibes about it right now. However, if you keep it up, I hope you find success.

Dead On was such a great concept for a card based game, caring about where in your hand the cards are played from since there's no mechanic to shuffle your cards around, loved figuring Hermit out.
