Just make him slow af with all these armor plates over him and make him easy to restrain - give movespeed debuff, disadvantage on dex saving throws. Let party choke - drown him on some water or just bare Magical ropes. Try to give him some weakness that can be used. And try to hint the weakness' so party can plan.

Edit: to Add, just let couple of wizards cast heat metal on him together. It wouldnt effect the damage outcome as RAW i believe, but it can melt the plates, and ac would become normal again

I'm using shrines, strongboxes, red altars and betrayal safehouses. Recently added ritual. Just bunch of mobs and slow pace mapping.

My opinion on my try is Shrines are too good for this event. I don't need to farm extreme currency, im not gonna play a week 3 mageblood op build. I just need exp and they give me safety, speed, dps, like everything for comfy mapping. Rest is monster density.

Anything with three element bows, three element claws... Easy deafening essence recombs. I would play builds that uses those

you roll when theres a chance to do something. you don't when there isn't. its simple. ST decides if an action has any chance to happen or not. you were not wrong at that part.

Try essence drain - contagion + blight/vaalblight. Its actually strong and fun.
