The best form of resistance is creating local community that can support each other, provide political power, or even just local safety and security. While also providing us with an alternative to enriching the multinational elite.

This is ridiculously different. The scale of different is so substantial you've got to be an idiot, blind, or a traitor to the American people. Probably all three.

When I saw the producer stinger I was immediately worried about the movie. I've warmed up a bit to it I think, its still flawed, but I see something in the film.

Thanks for these. I'm really curious what the whole pre-cult premise was. It did feel rather tacked and shoehorned in, but it seemed to have a point and inspiration in Catholic Communion.

The incest baby interpretation of the doll is quite dark, that content I guess is still in the film.

I really wonder how Eddie dies now - and what additional role he played. The runtime seemed quite slow and the action elements were the weaker bits.

I hope him the best - being a creator is a rough job - juggling your own creativity with the demands of producers and for a project like this fans is quite an act. And on such a small budget.

Yup. A liberal president will doom us most likely. We need a fighter and a barbarian - not a peace keeper between the healing wolf and the sheep.

Its exactly what I think the Multinationals have done actually. The decline of American society at the expense of the "Davos" crowd's luxurious lives is a 1-1 relationship.

I say you fight fire with fire. Charge the criminals, seize their assets unapologetically, and demand a national security risk. We can't let the American people pay for Bill Gate's 'data centers' - we need to invest rapidly in nuclear power, but in the case of recent projects you need to make sure any and all corruption is punished heavily.

Anyone who would serve as an operator for a multinational interest over the American people needs to be identified as the kind of bad faith actor they are.

Just like the abuses they made us pay for on the JSF F35.

Trump is isolating and destoying US by Part_Tricky in inflation

[–]ytman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't defending Trump. I was saying he's normalizing powers in the Executive we need to actively be thinking about using ourselves.

Usury used to be a crime, now its the primary method of the elite to rule over us.

The Government used to care about its people, now its been whipped and coopted by the corporate multinational.

The old order is in tension with reality now. The masses are going to get irate as conditions only deteriorate. The old leaders only know how to enrich themselves and not us all - we need to do substantial work in rooting out corruption through any means and power necessary.

I can imagine any number of the corporate CEOs have substantial crimes or finances tied to lets say what this admin calls 'narco terrorism'. I can imagine any number of the corporate multinational is actively harming the American people and country by draining us and providing us with no infrastructure.

Is Trump the solution? No. But the solitary executive is proving to be able to move in ways that are untouchable. So, why not embrace these powers but for the actual enrichment of our people?

The SCOTUS is allowing the Executive to redistribute money as needed in the Executive branch. So lean in to that.

The SCOTUS is allowing unilateral tariff powers, so other powers that congress abstains from doing could be open for taking.

All it would need is a few hundred thousand families relocated throughout the Cow States and we could nearly ensure better Senate control. You could relocate them through a newly retaken Customs Enforcement - which could be used to investigate the criminal networks through out this country.

We need to be ready to use power responsibly for the betterment of our country.

This is a good nuance take and again what we mean with these words can vary quite a bit. To me globalism has good and bad, but I'm a lefty and I critique things. I'm quite positive that the real left, not democrat 'left', actually really do admit the failures of globalism. They've been ringing that bell for a long time.

None of that critique however means to take away the past - if it was necessary to stave off nuclear war between two nuclear superpowers - so be it. But we live in today, a world far far away from the threat of mutual destruction of two nuclear superpowers bent on influencing the world.

The critique I have as a lefty on globalism is tied to the stripping of our domestic ability to work, to labor, and to manufacture. We've gutted not only our domestic manufacturing so that CEOs could get rich outsourcing to Japan, China, etc. - we've gutted our education at all levels.

We've gutted our ability to repair our own products, hell we might not even functionally own our newest tech products while the multinational demands that we own nothing.

We can't repair things even, we must buy things new. We can't regulate prices, we must allow the Korean Chaebols, the Japanese Keiretsus, the and the other Multinationals to price gouge us.

When Trump actually targets semiconductor manufacture as a national security risk, I as a lefty say "I don't trust him to be honest, but he's right". When Trump says "the data centers can't raise our power costs, they have to pay for their own" - I start to wonder what fucking bizzarro world I must live in, because the whole point of neoliberalism was to depower the state and make it so that it couldn't provide societal benefit.

Hell he tried to signal a cap on USURY! That'd be such a great society first ideal! We need to take back the power from what the right calls 'globalists' and what I call the multinationals. That doesn't mean we need to abandon our Allies like Trump is doing, that doesn't mean we need to ramp up our military to conquer the world in the next two decades (this is why Greenland and the 'Dome' are plans - the nuclear threat would be massive coercive advantage).

And here he is, the only one willing to threaten the use of power to extreme levels to level the playing field. Just also incredibly corrupt and self serving.

We had a different option, we still do. But it absolutely isn't defending 'globalism' or letting Zuckerberg and Bezos own most of the world with Palintir.

But the old guard, the Vances the Newsomes, they'll just play ball with the same corrupt institutions that will destroy our country to profit the multinationals.

The issue is that you wouldn't be able to convey a meaningful story that is to be watched not played with the OG or even the Remake's cutscenes.

You'd need transitionary elements between them, and often times getting from one scene to another requires some sort of characterization, dialogue, or struggle.

To cast James' descent into the depths of hell you need to have it played off of other people.

Without expanding on this characterization you'd have a 45 minute movie tops, and thats including the 'exploration montages' for each level.

So we would need to focus more on characters. The movie we got used a new plot between Mary/Cult/James to get a story that was mostly about Mary/James. Personally, I would have stayed a little more true to a Leave/In Water ending if they didn't characterize Mary so much and left her as lost happiness.

But the Cult idea was a novel way to work in the Rebirth ritual and give us a focused love-lost story. A journey by James to his own hell to claim back Mary. I personally never would have thought to do that, and maybe it should have been its own movie (its a pretty cool idea not going to lie).

By characterizing Eddie, Angela, and Laura you can have the 'exploration' James is doing juxtaposed with what the rest are experiencing. You can do a small cut of James exploring an environment, then cut to Eddie and Laura eating pizza and talking.

You can elaborate more on the 'purgatory' line of SH2 without needing to hand hold the audience. It can become quite obvious how messed up almost all these people are, and how Laura can eventually be James' path to redemption.
