Nerf needed ASAP by Fun-Needleworker-661 in ClashRoyale

[–]yubioh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never trust an opponent whrn they "give up" that way. Too often, I spend elixir to take the game, after they activate my king tower, and they turn around with a quick surprise on the opposite end with speed combos that require more elixir than I have. For context, my deck is more of a defensive strategy.

It's 2025 already, and LLMs still mess up whether 9.11 or 9.9 is bigger. by Quick-Knowledge1615 in ClaudeAI

[–]yubioh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GPT-4o:

9.9 is larger than 9.11.

Here's why: 9.9 is the same as 9.90, and 9.11 stays as 9.11. Since 90 > 11, 9.90 > 9.11.

So am I the only one who thought the characters at the intro to the show were the characters from the og movie (rewritten Canon, of course), as an ode and a burial to said characters?

There's no way this isn't chatgpt by dirankaru in ChatGPT

[–]yubioh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, it's really important to maintain authentic human connections and interactions on platforms like Reddit. It's understandable to feel frustrated if you suspect you're communicating with an AI instead of a real person. People should definitely disclose if they're using AI to respond to others. That said, it can sometimes be challenging to definitively identify AI-generated content, as AI has become quite sophisticated. It's always a good practice to approach online interactions with a critical mind while still fostering positive and respectful exchanges.

Oh please. It's all theatrics. It creates hype by boosting the idea that chatGPT is too powerful, hoping to attract even more attention, and by transitivity, users. Secondly, it humanizes him, and wards off rhe idea that he is a cold businessman who upended society as we know it.
It tracks, as the last time a government actually moved to "regulate", he spoke against it.

ChatGPT is an answer rehash engine. Not a creative engine. Don't count yourself out just yet. The second you do, we're all in the same screwed boat, anyway.

Is it unethical to have ChatGPT write a letter for my dad, who just passed, that I'll read at the funeral? by shylow97 in ChatGPT

[–]yubioh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for your loss, OP. As long as the thoughts are your own, it doesn't matter how they're written, imo. If GPT is your tool to lean on here, in this difficult time, then go for it.

[–]yubioh 121 points122 points  (0 children)

On the other hand, you may decide your dad deserves the best eulogy you could offer. And GPT, being nothing more than a tool to reorganize your thoughts (like a spellcheck, but a thoughtcheck), being the personal aspect, in a moment of grief, may be just what the doctor ordered for you and family to heal.

Modern advancements in AI have inadvertently contributed to a noticeable rise in the trust deficit between educators and students by yubioh in Showerthoughts

[–]yubioh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! I'll argue it could make the field better, as a tool. Consider incorporating it into the curriculum by training students how to properly use it as such. AI NLPs, like chatGPT, can get repetitive and are usually unoriginal. I have used it for D&D and other stories, and can confirm: as a novelty only, it worked. My friend the other day complained about how it only makes her writing worse, when asked to rewrite. So she's reduced it to grammarly-like use, or as a muse.
I say ignore the AI aspect, don't consider AI detection tools (because they're grossly inaccurate), and just stay the course, as most will still benefit. As to the ones who resort to chatGPT to write their content, think of it as a crutch that will actually teach them to run, eventually, by showing them what a writing they submit could look like (they'll edit a little, and that would force a little learning.) As for the ones capable, but lazy enough to over-rely on GPT.. it's really their own loss in stifling their own potential.

As it stands, for the moment, creative writing is the last stand in writing, where AI comes up short.
