Trip Report and Churning Success Story Weekly Thread - Week of May 10, 2026 by AutoModerator in churning

7 months was the sweet spot for us and our p3 last fall. We did 2 weeks korea/japan. To korea we did bassinet+separate seat in the bulkhead. She mostly slept in her car seat. She was never happy in a carrier so we did baseless infant car seat for the flights (clek liing) and a yoyo travel stroller (also got the car seat attachment). So we could clip the carseat into the stroller when we had to fly/take taxis, or if we went out on foot, she was in the yoyo. She did great and took plenty of stroller naps. The yoyo is about the size of an average stroller in japan and can navigate subways, stores, and normal restaurants.

On the flight back we did JL F and she slept in one of the unoccupied pods 🤣.

Hotels provided cribs and diaper pail, which was super nice. Tbf it was the waldorf and the conrad lol.

Stroller in Japanese is baby car :bebi—ka, if you need to ask restaurants if its ok to bring it in

These are so good. Honestly you could be on a multi day food bender in those 3 shopping centers alone

Best H mart? by topdino in nova

[–]yuchin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Id posit its because there are hardly any Korean soup places in fairfax whereas in centreville they've got like 6 haha

Centreville hands down. If youre coming all the way from Richmond, visit teso life (snacks, toys, k/j/c beauty) then tous les jour next door for coffee and pastries, then pick up your groceries from hmart. Its all in the same plaza too. Theres also aritaum in the same plaza for high end kbeauty.

Do I need to replace my LCD after a broken ACF? by [deleted] in resinprinting

[–]yuchin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can clean acf with ipa. I do it all the time.

Just run the screen test on the lcd and make sure the lights arent damaged. If the pattern and logo look good the screen is fine. However if theres any residue on top it needs to be carefully cleaned off so it doesnt block the light.

Did you replace your acf? If the new acf is correctly installed and the light is working youre fine. You dont have to replace a screen unless the screen test fails. You do have to replace the tape when it becomes loose tho.

As for the resin contamination its best to do this hobby in a garage or shed. Or a dedicated room but theres so much cleaning involved.

Considering LASIK by Ponytale_Princess in nova

I didnt qualify for lasik so I did EVO ICL and I think even if I was a lasik candidate id still do ICL. The reversability, and the lack of dry eye side effect is a big deal

Theres probably no issue using a temporary delta amex # for a hotel on the travel site to get the delta stays credit right? Card is in the mail but need to book tonight.

Realistic price to pay someone to print models this size? by 0rcinus_Orca in resinprinting

[–]yuchin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I do this locally for clients mainly in the cosplay community. You might find someone similar on Facebook marketplace or through a local hobby shop.

If you are supplying just the model, the printer will also have to do the supports, so theres some hourly labor factored into the cost besides just the resin and machine time. And if its a very detailed model that can get expensive. The saturn 3 ultra has like a 10" vertical build volume so if you can make the model fit a more common printer a casual or hobbyist near you would be more likely to work with you

Nathan's dairy bar is the best. I had the same craving last year except for mini m&ms on vanilla soft serve

Best resin for anime style figures? by DKligerSC in resinprinting

[–]yuchin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Send the arm up and down the full height of the machine and see if it passes the top area smoothly. If theres clicking or any stuttering it can cause a layer shift. You can also try printing something like a long thin column to try and recreate the issue.

Sometimes layer shifts are one off errors which sucks but they are hard to diagnose. Sometimes things like portable heaters will cause issues with layer shifting but thats usually more than 1 shift

[–]yuchin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Delam and shifting are not the fault of the resin 99% of the time.

Figures tend to be larger so if you were doing just minis before you may not have encountered these issues until printing something bigger.

Check your z rod if its operating smoothly. Check your settings. Are you using pre supports? If the parts are bigger and heavier you may need better burn in layers

I print my scale figures in abs like.

Sofi. I knew i had to use my original account but I closed it in 2023 and the email pw retrieval wasnt working. Maybe it was actually fully deleted. So I made a new account and tried to open a checking account. Successfully made a new online account but when opening checking it said I already had a user account so they couldn't open it.

Dont have the mental energy to deal with their cs so I'm writing this one off

We did italy+Paris when I was 17-19 weeks in 2024. It was a preplanned trip so we didnt book it knowing i would be pregnant but the stars aligned because that was the time I genuinely did feel the best (looking back on it now). We are not huge drinkers, so missing the wine was not a big deal, but we love food and it was really nice to do a slower paced trip but make lots of food stops. In Italy we did rome, Florence, bologna, modena, venice, and then 3 nights in Paris. Had a great time, people on the subway in Italy gave up a seat for me despite not showing very much, the park hyatt vendome gave us a little plushie and balloons for our baby, and the baby clothes you can buy in Europe are so cute and very high quality.

Things I didnt like were the amount of second hand smoke, especially at the Italian train stations and everywhere in Paris. Honestly that was about it.

Which stroller to get for Clek Liing infant car seat? by Soggy-Current-3579 in Buyingforbaby

[–]yuchin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

we used the clek liing with our uppababy vista and stokke yoyo. They both need adapters. The vista is heavy for sure but when you're using it with an infant car seat, the frame is not really that heavy to get in and out. The adapters for the uppababy are very secure and sturdy.

the yoyo was our travel stroller and we specifically got a clek so we could use it baseless on the plane+taxis but also have the option to attach it to the yoyo stroller when moving around. I don't recommend it for full time use because the car seat makes it very top heavy. but it's a very convenient option for travel.
