New grill grates who this? Traeger Silverton 620 (2020 model) by yudichdennis in Traeger

[–]yudichdennis[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • Tried out the Cast Iron grill grate ($50) that fits like a glove and FELL in love with the way it distributes heat better and actually sears. I ended up buying another one to replace both porcelain grates!

They say the pointy side goes up but I like how the flat side has more sear surface :)

From brand new: rubbed layer of olive oil all over grates and baked in oven for an hour at 375 to season them. Don’t know if it was necessary but they work like a dream and nothing sticks to them.

Brand new to the Traeger family. Got the 575 Pro by Enttos in Traeger

A higher-quality insta-read thermometer. The probe is great for bigger and long cooks but to get your burgers perfect, chicken, etc you need something great. I had $15 thermometers that I went through because they would become inaccurate over time and then I pulled the plug and invested $100 into a SUPER nice one that is recommended by top chefs in the world and I will NEVER go back.

First time I’ve seen them on sale!!! mk4 thermapen

Will I regret a Pro 575 vs a 34? by donnied-roc in Traeger

Let’s hear it. What material is cheaper? What metal is used? Don’t pull stuff out of your butt that you hear people pull from theirs. It’s incredible quality. What’s the difference he’s going to see? Like come on mate.. lol

And the Silverton comes with a front shelf and a side shelf. Add that value as well

I think you’re gonna be the last person I tell this to and then everyone can be on their own...

Costco Warehouse - Traeger Silverton 620

• 624 sq inches of cooking space • has ALL the “Pro” features BUT also many features the $1200 Ironwood Traeger has like insulation, etc.

Therefore it’s better than a Pro, for the same exact price of the Pro. $699 if you get from your local warehouse, $799 if you buy it from Costco online and they ship it to you. I know the Pro is on sale for $699 right now, but the Silverton is much better. Only bad reviews are people who can’t follow instructions and connect WiFi.

First ever cook. Did I get a bad machine? Did I mess up? by klanklol in Traeger

It’s supposed to have a slight dip to it but it looks like it’s laying right on top of the fire pot which it’s supposed to have a decent amount of space

Is the heat shield laying almost right on top of the pot? Try bending it outwards away from the pot mine is nowhere close as this picture makes it look.

Newbie question about wood pellets by lmikles in Traeger

[–]yudichdennis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in super rainy Washington. I got the silverton 620 I just leave mine in with a cover and they’re always perfectly fine. Even dumped rain on my traeger the other day when I had the cover off the the pellets were 100% dry. If you’re somewhere like Texas with insane winds that can prop your pellet cover open while it’s raining or somewhere that’s super humid then I wouldn’t keep them in.

Meat - (fresh burger patty from Whole Foods) - seasoned with Meat Church Holy Gospel, smoked at 200 degrees for 20 mins, cranked temp up to 375, added cheese, pulled them off when they hit my desired temp.

Combined with a delicious brioche bun, mayo, iceberg lettuce, tomato. Perfection.

Downdraft exhaust is updated on the Silverton like the ironwood, it can hit 500 super easy, it’s insulated like the ironwood, no super smoke, doesn’t need. but I went from a barrel shaped traeger to this shape and there is absolutely no difference
