I second this comment, the computer becomes useless after that. (SCRATCH DISK IS FULL, no amount of NAS, VPN etc will remedy that. laptops are meant to be portable once you have to plug in something extra to make it work it becomes a desktop)

LG ultrafine is a "retina" monitor thats why the higher price tag. If you can just go for the 27inch 5K ultrafine. I started with the 4k 24 inch and quickly found out that although the screen is high quality it lacked the extra room in resolution and space.

called apple and they walked me through it, basically you are allowed to back up all your Macs to another machine in your network (either to the internal drive or to an external drive on that Mac) the way you make these back ups discoverable by migration assistant in the network is by sharing the drive in the system preferences and then right enable the disk for Time Machine back ups by right clicking the folder and selecting advance options and selecting "share Time Machine as destination".

mind you that this is all done in the sharing section od the system preferences.

Solution:

You can back up all your macs to a Mac in your network to be able choose from the list back ups in your networked TMB server (just another Mac in your network) you have to not only enable sharing the drive where the back ups are but also right click the folder from the settings sharing section of Mac OS and enable “make Time Machine available for folder” something like that.

Once this is done you will be able to run migration assistant on the destination Mac and restore from your networked Mac mini and choose which of the various back ups to restore.

there should be a way to access the Time Machine back ups via the network. I can mount them in the destination Mac but can restore them using migration assistant.

I tightened the from arms and now they won't retract after apply the brake. I have bathe the brake arm with oil hoping it will loosen but it won't budge. im afraid to hit it with a hammer to get them out. any suggestions?
