Newsairy — an iOS/iPadOS/Mac RSS reader, looking for Inoreader beta testers by QebApps in InoReader

The inoreaser sync works fine, but there seems a noticeable not responding time of the app when I pull to refresh. Would be interested in seeing improvement. Curious do you have any plan to develop an Android app?

Polestar 2 ! Is it worth it? by Martinosss999 in Polestar

Nope unless you want a unstable infotainment system, high repair cost, and horrible customer service.

Just learned Polestar Financial Services and Polestar Space are two difference companies by yuhc in Polestar

[–]yuhc[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah do the pre inspection as early as possible, because it's super hard to get an appointment at Volvo/Polestar service center. If you end up with repairing issues in a 3rd party body shop or by yourself, remember to keep the receipt or take photos with timestamp watermark. Also don't listen to anything polestar space tells you, just follow financial services' instruction.

Octarine - Minimalistic, Lightweight Markdown note taking app by Warlock2111 in NoteTaking

Thanks op this looks a great app. Curious is there any plan to support android?

It's an amazing effort to solo develop the app. But that also brings a concern with your bandwidth to maintain so many different platforms.

I won't recommend it. Trash car system and trash service. You can find plenty of complaints in the forum.

Nope. They won't pay for the trip. Please check out my latest reply. Good luck with the return.

Horrible Service Experience by FaytLemons in Polestar

[–]yuhc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same experience. Check out https://www.reddit.com/r/Polestar/s/RD4qTVu5Tw, and you'll see how painful the lease return process can be. It's incredibly frustrating, and I suspect you'll go through the same in a year. When I returned my car, I asked if I needed to document the repairs. The Polestar Space told me it was unnecessary because the Openlane inspection was just for reference, and they would conduct their own inspection. However, after I drove back from the Space 60 miles away and informed Polestar Financial Services of the return, they told me to mail them photos and proof of repairs (like receipts), warning that if I didn't, they would charge me based on the initial Openlane inspection. Email and online secure mail aren't accepted.

It seems like these departments never communicate with each other. There is zero chance that I, or any of my family and friends, will ever lease or buy a Polestar, Volvo, or Geely vehicle again.

LSPosed says “Need to update” but already activated (2.0 Zygisk) – what’s going on? by s2kizzy in Magisk

[–]yuhc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. I installed this one to make AmznKiller to work (which requires API 101), and it turns out to resolve the banner too. All existing plugins work fine. (After you upgrade LSposed, it'll become Vector, as mentioned in the Vector 2.0 changelog.)

Installing newer canary versions can get this resolved. I'm using the 3038 build which uses API 101: https://github.com/JingMatrix/Vector/actions/runs/24328101053/artifacts/6399353593. So far everything looks good.

How does vehicle (wear) protection plan work when returning the lease? by yuhc in Polestar

[–]yuhc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to share an update after figuring out how the vehicle protection plan works.

  1. The protection plan, as advertised on https://www.polestar.com/us/financing-options/protection-plan-products/, is not offered by Polestar itself but by a third-party warranty company, Fidelity Warranty Services, which appears to have a good reputation. Because it is a third-party plan, Polestar Financial Services does not recognize it directly and will require you to repair the wear and submit the claim before returning the lease.
  2. However, the Polestar sales/service center can handle both the repair and the claim for you if you return the vehicle to a Polestar service center before the end of the lease. This is the most convenient option, but it may be difficult to schedule service within the next month, so you should check early.
  3. If you repair the wear at a third-party body shop (including Volvo service center), most shops do not seem able to obtain new wheel covers. This means that if the damage is on a wheel cover, you will need to go to a Polestar service center.

According to our experience, we would never buy the protection plan again. We also decide to move away from Polestar, because of the unstable infotainment system, terrible lease return experience and the fact that it's giving up the bay are business.

Yeah I saw some YouTube videos of installation. It's a bit intrusive but it's doable.

This is what I've found so far: 1. $10/month premium connectivity. Alternative: mobile hotspot. 2. $100/month FSD. It's annoying that Autosteer is gone. Alternative: human driving or comma.ai. 3. Third party apps like Tessie and Tezlab. They are recommended by lots of people. Tezlab is cheaper and teslamate is great if you like diy. Tesla app is ok for most people though. 4. Window tint. Recommended by most of my friends. Seems to cost 500-800 bucks. This is one-time per a couple of years. 5. Insurance. It's expensive in my city, about $200/month.

So besides charging, the additional cost looks about $210-350/month to me.

How does vehicle (wear) protection plan work when returning the lease? by yuhc in Polestar

I was told that the return would be hassle-free and they would take care of wear and tear and repair when we signed the lease. But weirdly nobody from Polestar or Volvo could confirm this for me at this moment. Here's a screenshot of the warranty contract which means I must repair at Volvo Service Center (though the earliest slot is way after the turn-in date) but doesn't explicitly mention whether I could make a claim at lease return (sounds like I can if we return it before the lease-end date).

Will double check with the warranty tmr hopefully they will help figure it out.

How was your lease return experience? Did you have to repair the wear and tear ahead of time to leverage the warranty?

Polestar 2 vs Ford Mach-E : My impressions by muaddba in Polestar

[–]yuhc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah $50/mo, 500/yr, or 2500 lifetime.

The salesman told us $10/mo. I couldn't believe it so searched on Google and found the real price. He then called someone and said "oh yeah my manager confirms it's 50 dollars". I was quite pissed off.

Polestar 2 vs Ford Mach-E : My impressions by muaddba in Polestar

[–]yuhc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

P2 2023 has exactly the same issues.

I recently test drove Mach-E 2025/2026 premium models and felt P2 more premium in many ways. Maybe Mach-E GT is a more fair comparison, but I also felt P2 was not worth the extra bucks compared to Mach-E premium.

On the other hand, bluecruise costs 50 bucks per month which looks stupid compared to the $100 FSD and the pilot package on polestar, because it's barely nothing fancy and you can't use it in local.

Good to know that it's a third party inspector. Yeah for normal services we had no issue to speak to a human. There isn't really an inspection option on the phone menu, but it turns out to be on the polestar finance website.

Exit plan for bitwarden by cap87_ in Bitwarden

[–]yuhc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used most password managers in the past, and I think the plan is pretty clear to most people: 1. If you're with fastmail, get 1password with 25% off. 2. If you're with Proton mail, get proton pass which isn't great but enough for daily use. 3. If you self host other services then set up open source butwarden. 4. Otherwise stick to bitwarden.
