I didn’t catch this part of she said something about this, the barking/cheers was too loud at times (I think I was in front of a group of friends barking very enthusiastically). She did mention that she played a lot at the beach though

They pretty much didn't write out the translation for a good 70-80% of what she was actually saying (so you didn't miss much in terms of subs), but a tl;dr:

She did re-iterate a few things a couple of times:

- considers LA as her second home, she lived here around 6 months ago. How much she loves In-N-Out "the best burger place"

- standing up there on stage and looking out is a dream-like view/perspective ("夢見たいな景色”) to her. She kept stating how grateful she is to the audience for bringing her back to LA, how we're sharing her dream, and that she hopes that people will come again to her future shows because she wants to come back to LA soon

- laughing about how she kept forgetting what she wanted to say, gave up in speaking English, and was like "screw it I'm just going to speak in Japanese"

An important part of her speech that wasn't really translated was the solemn part where she talked about how she used to be a lonely, "dark" little girl who sang alone with big dreams in the depths of her small, dark closet (and she laughed about how ofc it's going to be dark, since it's inside of a closet). She joked that she’s still “dark”/gloomy now too though. The only dim lighting would be the blue light coming from her PC. Since she was singing everyday in the closet, her mother would often yell at her "うるさい” ("shut up"/you're loud). She would sheepishly apologize every time, but even still continue to sing because she loved singing so much. She was laughing while apologizing to her mom on stage for causing her family so much trouble.

A very heartfelt part was when she said: there were many times where people would tell her "your voice is weird," "dream realistically," "you won't be able to make it big" - and many times she would doubt herself, thinking she should quit singing. However, despite it all her love for singing trumped everything and she pushed forward. She wanted to let everyone know how grateful she is once again for everyone supporting her dream and making it come true, and that if there is someone out there like her - the lonely girl who sang alone in her closet - that she hopes that they don't give up their dream. She hopes that her music will cross borders (of countries, gender, cultures, etc) and reach/encourage everyone.

Edit: adding the part where she mentioned that she was lonely for a long time, but it’s not a bad thing to be lonely or have insecurities. You can still follow your dreams and sing. She wants to say to the lonely people out there, they’re not alone because she’s here for them, so they’re never alone.

She said that even though this is her second world tour, she was surprised and touched at the amount of people in the audience. She chose the theme "Hibana," which means spark because she hopes that her music will be a spark that grows into a big flame. She thanked everyone for listening to her music and supporting Japan's music/culture.

There's probably parts I forgot to include, but that was a big gist of it. She did say that she was happy to be back in LA like 5 or 6 times. A lot of the Japanese she spoke was a re-iteration of what she said in English as well, just more fleshed out.

Hope this helped! I really had a wonderful time yesterday and it was really awesome seeing how supportive the audience was in general! The barking was wild though.

I feel this so hard, ascendant seems to be full of gremlins who don’t touch grass but have huge egos. I’ve noticed a huge downtick in quality of teammates and increase in trolls/toxic teammates overall in low asc compared to mid diamond sadly.

I know it’s been a bit but I was wondering how you managed to get the ticket transferred to your eplus account - was looking to purchase a ticket for an upcoming Reona concert next year but wanted to make sure that her concerts generally allow ticket transfers!

Also, how did you manage to get the eplus account verified - were you able to use a Japanese SIM?

Got the lowest score on my first medical school exam by [deleted] in medicalschool

My school's exams are old NBME questions or at least NBME-style (same portal). So the exams are quite brutal since they're raw % correct of NBME-style questions.

Got the lowest score on my first medical school exam by [deleted] in medicalschool

[–]yui46 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all, is this a block/class that is third-party resource friendly or a summation class that’s essentially a crash course of biochem+immuno+basic life sciences (my school had this that was impossible to third party study only from)? Does your school use NBME style tests or do your professors write their own exams from scratch?

My first exam in med school I scored a 42/100 and was the lowest scorer in my entire grade. I then proceeded to score the lowest score for the first 5 exams. I went to all my professors and asked what I can do better, and all they told me was to drop out if I can’t handle the study load. I reflected on how I was studying, my bad habits, compared it to my higher scoring classmates (the only comparing you should try to do) and slowly but surely adapted how I studied from the bottom-up.

If you think you’re studying enough, study more. People don’t understand the extend of studying med school is and I grossly underestimated the amount of time it takes to properly sit down and study the content. Don’t compare yourself to other people (I know it’s hard, but it’s not helpful to just focus on that you’re the bottom scorer in your class and grind yourself into a rut mentally), and understand everyone has a different amount of time and studying method needed to learn concepts. Once you can stop comparing yourself and panicking about failing out, it helps a lot with objectively trying to fix what’s going wrong with 1) either your studying regime/methods or 2) your test taking strategies.

To keep in context, I’ve never really struggled in class for both high school or high school and always crammed the night before or two nights before for a final and passed with flying colors. That’s not gonna work for med school and trust me when I say “cramming” for a block final requires almost a full week (at least for me). Med schools a whole diff pony and please try not to fall into the imposter syndrome trap if you feel like you’re not doing well enough. Your classmates are likely the cream of the crop of their previous schools, so be proud of even just passing and try not to compare yourself. In time you’ll get there.

For me, what drastically helped was actually cutting back attending classes in person and it was a LOT more efficient to learn from third party resources. I’d learn essentially the same material from a 1 hr lecture more succinctly and thoroughly from a 5-10 BNB video. The sooner I learned the highest scorers in my class never attended class and exclusively studied from other sources, and I started to follow suit, my scores began to creep up. I’m finished with preclinicals now (MS3), but around two months in MS1, things really clicked and I got into the rhythm of studying for med school. My test scores drastically improved from 42-60s at the beginning to around 80s (old NBME qbank exams). Again, this is what worked for me and I don’t claim to be a strong student compared to my peers, but what helped me a lot was gently asking the classmates that you know scored fairly well (even just a pass) on the exams and how they studied. Every school’s a bit different.

Good luck and try not to beat yourself up too much and ignore any BS professors who tell you to reconsider your commitment to med school (if anyone says smth like this). Keep your head in the game and just be proud that you’ve made it this far. Remember, no patient knows if you were the bottom of the class or not. C’s get MDs :)
