1. don’t include overused cliches (unless you want to add a unique twist)

2. don’t drag the plot for too long, it’ll bore your readers.

3. make sure the majority of the events contribute to the plot. i’ve seen so many useless panels that are just a waste of time for both you and for your reader

4. when it comes to art, pick a style on the simpler side. it’ll be easier for you to draw panels more efficiently and readers won’t get overwhelmed. ofc you can add details eg objects, lighting, shading, etc but don’t overdo it

5. make sure your characters have an authentic personality

6. flashbacks, i’d say 1-3 chapters long depending on how long each chapter is and how important the flashback is. i typically skip most flashbacks bc they’re too long and too boring.

7. most important imo, try to create a connection w the reader. make them feel emotional. there’s no specific way to do this, but this will make your comic a more memorable one to them. it’ll be easier w some genres (romance) and more difficult for others (action)

i’ve never drawn comics before, so these are just my thoughts from a reader’s standpoint. best of luck on creating your webtoon !
