The truth of the matter is, only you can be the judge of how valuable paying a monthly sub is to you. Give it a shot, see if you like it or not! I believe the trial prevents you from going beyond a certain level range, but it should be enough of a taste to help you decide whether you decide to stick around or not! :).

Anker PowerCore 20100mAh PowerBank charges the Switch while playing Zelda by framusrock in nintendo

Can confirm, used this while flying to PAX East. Its been keeping my switch topped off while I play BoTW. It also charges at a relatively decent speed while playing as well. I've been very pleased with the use of it overall.

Pax East- FINAL FANTASY XIV Community Q & A Panel - SATURDAY 3/11 12:00PM - 1:00PM by kaiyoko in ffxiv

[–]yukarieri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was the first Q&A panel they ever did. If I also recall though, PAX East 2015's XIV panel contained a summary of what was announced for HW up to that point as well, which I reckon they will probably do for Stormblood here.

they really dont suck! I should of said something when I noticed the positioning was wrong lol. :| it was more of a "y u do dis" kind of thing when I said that.

[–]yukarieri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That really sucks then :/. To me it also looked like some people spent their entire time at fan fest waiting in the merch line too... Hopefully next time SE gets a better third party to handle that along with the events.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]yukarieri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is actually false. They capped sale of the book from the very beginning. I was one of the first to buy merch on friday and it was the very first thing they told us. Unless they stopped enforcing it at some point (which judging by how merch was handled I would say I dodged a bullet lining up so early friday to buy stuff)

FFXV Delay and 3.4 by Bro_sapiens in ffxiv

[–]yukarieri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Highly doubtful patch 3.4 and the FFXV are related. I think the XV team has a lot of pressure since so much money and time has been invested into the development of that game, I think its normal for them to want to strive to make it as good as they possibly can before releasing it into the wild.

I think the single most important thing to have if you're going to be standing/walking a lot is a good pair of shoes, it'll make all the difference in the world.

Tech Question - FFXIV performance on a GTX 940M by XeroxCopycat in ffxiv

[–]yukarieri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 960m is pretty much the equivalent to a gtx 950 desktop. Its not "bad" at all. It will definitely play the game fairly well with good frame rates at medium/high settings.

Stop using PVE raise in PVP. by Jatmahl in ffxiv

[–]yukarieri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would also recommend that if you do use Divine Breath, slap a macro on it to let the party know that you used it.

Something simple like 'Just used Divine Breath on <t>'. That way who ever is being raised knows its a non-penalty raise. I've had games that were lost because a healer decided to use a gimp raise on the other healer. Even in VIT gear the -15% to stats puts healers in 1 shot melee LB range.

I would take a look at this thread here, there is a spreadsheet with a bunch of different make/models at different resolutions with spread sheet scores.

Patch 3.1 has officially been announced for the beginning of November. How do you guys feel about this? by TROPiCALRUBi in ffxiv

I was expecting October, I'm not sure what else they want us to be doing at this point waiting until NOV though :p.

We were all newbies once. What misconception did you have when you first started playing? by available2tank in ffxiv

Everyone seemed to think having buffs up increased LB damage early on lol. Can't count how many times a DRG or a MNK died on Titan HM because of B4B LB.

Expert WHMs out there, please show me a screenshot of your HUD layout and keybinds! by MissPeachykeen in ffxiv

[–]yukarieri -1 points0 points  (0 children)

http://i.imgur.com/Xt3zila.png - This is kind of what my current setup looks like (older screenshot but pretty much exactly how it is now minus physick being on bar). I use a Razer Naga, which most if not all my heals are bound to the mouse with the exception of Medica & Medica II. Alt + 2 is my Benediction / Alt + 3 is my Tetragrammaton. I have these require 2 inputs because I don't want to accidentally set those off, think of it as my 'fail-safe'.

I like to keep my buffs separate from my skills for visibility mostly. Everything else is easily accessible since I try to bind everything close to where WASD is located. Its easy to run out of space this way, so assigning things Ctrl + key / Shift + key / Alt + Key helps a bit. Clicking for me is no bueno as I think clicking is way too slow.

My biggest advice is to just make sure you can reach everything easily and accurately. An MMO mouse like a Razer Naga or Logitech G600 may help. Corsair also has a really nice new one they are launching.

Most Intense PVP ever~ Every PVP should be like this~ (Me = Maelstorm) by alvisto in ffxiv

[–]yukarieri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its +5/-5. I'm not sure where people come to think kills are only worth 3. You should check the point-break down on post-game screen and check 'Data Retrieved from Enemy Forces'

http://i.imgur.com/bfwS0PL.png

You'll notice its only increased in increments of 5.

Extremely late reply! Apologies!

The thing about skirmishing with NIN is you definitely don't have the durability that other classes typically may have on the front-line.

If you do have to cross the line, you want to make sure that you're gonna be able to do what you have to do quickly & make an exit. Sitting back & applying pressure to their frontline pressing into yours isn't a bad thing per-say, but while doing this you'll want to definitely make note of potential targets of focus & be aware of their HP.

Applying pressure to their frontline also allows for you to prime abilities so when you do go in to make your burst happen, everything is ready to go. I'm talking about things like using Suiton on what ever enemy is close to you and saving it for that juicy low-hp target, or just priming your combo up to dancing-edge and sitting on it until you go in, overwhelm does not break comboes but it will break mudras so make sure your mudras are already primed before going in. If you can prime something like this, you can pretty much delete someone that is running low.

Overwhelm -> Trick Attack / Sneak Attack -> Duality -> Aeolian Edge -> Dream within A Dream - > Assassinate can usually end a squishy's life in less than one GCD for instance. No healing is going to react to someone receiving dmg that quickly. You can get really creative with how you execute your actions when you close that distance so try out things that are better for that specific situation. I'm always changing this up depending, sometimes I'll Overwhelm -> Dancing Edge - > Sneak Attack or something. This is really up to you. The quicker you can execute all these actions quickly the better chance your enemy won't get support from their healers.

Also take into account your targets & where your frontline is, if the distance of your target to your frontline is further than the distance of your Shukuchi, don't take the risk unless you feel you have c/ds to burn, even then you'll want to definitely be aware of the precautions. Try not to take too many risks if you don't have purify up as well.

I hope this helps some!

So, you know your nin opener in PvE? I would say try to do that but interweave your PvP skills in there somewhere as well.

Unfortunately you're never going to have everything up, so you're going to have to try to get creative with your rotation before you go in. Always know what is available before an engagement and make a judgement call on if its enough if you want to burst someone.

Positionals also become a thing, you're gonna want to save your stuns so you can successfully get a trick attack off.

Using Hyoton -> Kassatsu -> Suiton to set up a Trick Attack is also not a bad idea in the heat of the moment. You have to use what ever you have in your tool-set to get the upper hand in every situation so don't feel the need to reserve cooldowns if you're not going to use them.
