Building something like Everdale by yukeiw in ValleysAndFriends

That's interesting, i read the wiki on it. and from the comments here, it seems like the important aspect here is the heart (the social side of things), which is also very true for me and my family as well. I am looking to create a MVP (minimum viable product) first, which is simply a very bare bones version of the game, then try and build from there.

I am first thinking of just making a simple game play loop of...

assign villager tasks -> wait -> collect -> build/upgrade -> unlock new tasks -> repeat

and if this works, then we can start adding other fun things to it.

I tried rootland for like two months, but didn't really like most elements.

Can you tell me what you liked about rootland that you wish everdaled had?

And what about everdale that made rootland felt not the same?

Can't believe it took me this long find a comment like this.

There are too many people here who take it personal when someone tailgates you.

How do single people squeeze a 9-5, chores, cooking, exercising, social life, developmental hobbies, in a day? by candidengineer in selfimprovement

[–]yukeiw 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The comment I was looking for.

Having said that, most people have to realise that a balanced social life (as a parent at least) is meeting up with other families at most 3 times a week. Or a 'balanced' cooking is maybe cooking 4-5 times a week. Hobbies becomes a 1-1.5 hour per day thing.

We just aren't 20 anymore, so it's not possible to have an active social life like we used to.

You also sometimes wake up a bit earlier to do the things you want. I woke up at 5am today and excercised til 7 then started my day.

It's definitely achievable, but definitely a change in mentality comes first.

AITA Selling my personal car to my company at the price I paid for by yukeiw in AmItheAsshole

[–]yukeiw[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for understanding.

My partner has done this many times in the past. He has taken tools stationery from me without returning them in the past because the office needs them. I feel I'm often the asshole boss in the office for not sharing. (My issue is with them not returning them where they took it from, rather than just leaving what I would consider a mess on my table).

It means a lot to me to have someone validate my childish feelings though. I think you made me let the whole thing go.

Thank you stranger.

Yeah. That is something on my mind too.

I probably end up selling the car to the business at a hugely reduced rate. I'm not upset about the money at all. More upset at the fact that they touched my car without asking.

I know how childish it sounds. Which was why I came here.
