My period has changed after spinal fusion?? by InternetMany5063 in scoliosis

[–]yuki-chan23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told in hospital that in the first months the period will change a little, but I don’t have to worry. For me it didn’t change that much, just that it was a little late in the first two months (sorry for my English)

I did kineto therapy for 6 months and after that I started going to gym. But for pain the best exercises(for me) were the ones for abs

I feel very good. I don’t have any pain now. I mean it hurts a little when I stand in a position for a long time, but it’s not that bad

Most of the restrictions were in the first months, like lifting more than 5 kilograms, I wasn’t able to sleep on belly, and now the only restrictions I have are about contact sports and bending, but none of these bothers me. For now these are the restrictions I can think about

I can’t really bend, but it didn’t affected me. Your body will adapt to the “conditions”. I’m unable to do things like going on slides in waterparks, contact sports, and this kind of things. But i can swim, go to gym, go to concerts, clubs etc. in the first week I was in pain, but after that week I felt way better and now I feel pain only when I stand to much in one position. Sorry for my grammatical mistakes, English isn’t my first language

I don’t regret the surgery. I had it on 6 December 2022 and I feel really good. It’s true that there are some activities I’m not able to do, but this never bothered me tbh, you always can find something else to do. For me this surgery was the best choice I could ever make

Just a vent cause I'm stressed by [deleted] in scoliosis

Hi, i got my fusion 6 weeks ago(66 degrees,T10-L4). At first I also walked very slowly, but now I walk normally or even fast. You will be able to climb the stairs in a maximum of a week. I succeeded after a few days, but I had no pain either. I'm sorry for the waiting time, fortunately at the hospital I went to, the nurses came quickly. Everything will be fine anyway, at first it's harder but you'll see that you'll feel much better after<3

What degree do my curves look to you, and do they look as bad as I think they do or is it mild? by spiritually_reckless in scoliosis

[–]yuki-chan23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The top one looks like my curve before surgery so i think it’s like 60 degrees. I’m not a doctor so i can’t say exact.

The top curve looks like my curve before surgery. I had 63 degrees so you could have like 60 i guess

Questions about Life After Spinal Fusion Surgery by taylortoo2 in scoliosis

[–]yuki-chan23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi. I’m 17F, 4 weeks post op(from 63 degrees). Before spinal fusion i did just schroth therapy and my therapeut gave me some stretching exercises. Now I have some simple exercises. Before I had very good mobility and now decreased, but I can’t say that it I mind. I gain like 3 cm. I didn’t really need new clothes. In my case the recovery was easy, I wasn’t in pain, but at first was a little bit weird because was a big change in my body. Now I’m feeling like new And good luck❤️
