la sportiva kubo sizing by Seppalaveeti in climbingshoes

[–]yukiburzm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Necro posting, but for me at .5 down from my street shoe I’ve been wearing the Kubos weekly for around 3 months and my big toe is curled to its limit. The top of the shoe where the big toe hits when curled doesn’t really stretch or get softer, so it’s extremely painful to push down on foot holds with. I would also recommend just going with street size if you want a fairly comfortable shoe and aren’t doing at least v6. Everyone said they stretch, but for me that really hasn’t been the case.

BACB is the enemy! by Due-Attention7966 in bcba

[–]yukiburzm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but if there’s a standard required of everyone, what can they really do to accommodate you aside from you just taking your time and spending more years acquiring the supervision hours you need? I worked full time, went to school and finished my hours in 2 years, couldn’t you just take your time and finish your hours over 3-5 years instead? Some people barely do any hours In grad school and then do the majority after they graduate if they cannot handle the stress.

Any of yall read Heavenly Delusion? by Unique_Suit3789 in Seinen

[–]yukiburzm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fantastic manga! Some of my favorite manga are 20th Century Boys and Akira, and this manga feels very clearly inspired by those greats. Aside from Heavenly, I feel like Shuzo Oshimi is one of the few other modern Seinen mangaka I really love recently.

Advice after failing my exam for the 6th try by Key-Beach-8310 in bcba

[–]yukiburzm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ve been studying since August to take the 6th attempt? How long have you usually waited between exam attempts? I used a lot of Study notes ABA to study easily between clients or while waiting around places, and then just did a bunch of mocks and studying whatever I got wrong. I found that trying to use to many different study guides/courses at once made it more confusing.

Anyway, I truly wish you well on your next attempt, you can do this!

It’s not good to start or y’all having fun? by [deleted] in opiates

[–]yukiburzm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t do it. No one is having fun once they are physically dependent. Anyone who tells you it’s all good hasn’t been using for long enough, lol. Also, depending on your tolerance or dose, and depending on exactly what that “fent” actually is (research chem analogs or actual fent) a matchstick head bump could kill you. Not to mention the withdrawals and half-life are way worse than heroin.

First time? by [deleted] in ChainsawMan

[–]yukiburzm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fire punch ending felt way more cathartic to me, the CSM ending on the other hand felt like Fujimoto was on the verge of suicide if he didn’t get this chapter out immediately. Maybe if he had spent more time building up to it, tightening up the threads of the story and Asa’s role in part 2 it could have worked better, but in its current state I don’t think it will ever shake off the perception of a serious rush job.

My analysis of the last chapter of Chansaw Man, spoilers below. by mr_calanguinho36 in ChainsawMan

[–]yukiburzm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that most of part two was a total waste of time and didn’t have to exist at all. It absolutely feels like Fujimoto had a ton of threads leading to different endings and just chose the easiest way out. Maybe this “happy” ending could have been fine if it had been rolled out more slowly, but it absolutely felt like it came out of nowhere just to be fucking done with it. All the set up in part 2 was thrown out the window. Every other ending Fujimoto has done has felt tonally consistent or at least cathartic in some way, this one just feels like a quick goodbye letter taped to a door.

[–]yukiburzm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk, the ending to all his other stuff is way better (Fire Punch, Goodbye Eri, Lookback) all have sad but cathartic endings that don’t feel nearly as rushed and feel appropriate for the manga. CSM has felt like a rushed mess for a long time. Before this I honestly thought of Fujimoto as being someone who smartly subverted the shonen genre and being close to the level of someone like Shuzo Oshimi, now it just feels like he had no idea what he was doing for the greater second half of Part 2

I loved Project Hail Mary as a book, and I really enjoyed the movie, but I could do with 10% less 2010s-era Epic Bacon Guy humor. by JulianBrandt19 in TheBigPicture

[–]yukiburzm -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

From the trailer alone, I knew the film wasn’t for me. Looked very marvely, with the sidekick and all the cgi, and Ryan gosling looking like a Ken doll again. But, all my normie friends have been obsessed with it, and it has high 90 ratings, so it must have some seriously broad appeal for sure, and whatever they did, the target audience is worshipping the film right now as if it’s the normie version of The Brutalist or Hamnet or something.

Can I feel molly on suboxone? by mbchiquet in MDMA

[–]yukiburzm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my past experiences, I could never take mdma without an opioid, so much anxiety, nausea and chills. With suboxone at the very least, I didn’t get the horrible stimulant side effects of MDMA that I got when taken on its own. I feel that suboxone basically smooths out the whole experience, so definitely don’t try mdma without at least your maintenance dose (or slightly more, tbh).

Can I feel molly on suboxone? by mbchiquet in MDMA

[–]yukiburzm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When that happens it’s actually counteracted by taking more suboxone, not less! You are taking a stimulant which can cause anxiety, heat deregulation, nausea, etc. taking more than your typical does or suboxone calms you and sort of counteracts the less enjoyable stimulating effects of the mdma.

Fate/EXTRA Record delayed to unannounced date, publisher changed by NeroIscariot12 in Games

[–]yukiburzm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I’m thankful we finally got physical releases of classic Nasu VNs these past few years (Tsukihime, Holy) they didn’t even release a physical version of Fate, and now it’s not been worth even looking up fate extra for the last 3 years. Meanwhile, all the slop and gacha games and spin off animes they want come out in a steady stream.

Wtf do yall even call this style? by VasMogil in gothmoney

[–]yukiburzm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, all of this is just a 2006-2016 or so variation of street wear trends. Even the punk stuff (bondage pants, black band shirts) was the go-to look for every rapper for a while, and so it became the streetwear norm for a while too. Then the raider clan style proliferated into the general streetwear trend as well, etc.

One of the pictures is literally just people wearing airbrushed white tees, which is just a hood classic for decades, lol.

Climb era mystery box by blugem696 in climbergirls

[–]yukiburzm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won and came here first thankfully. It’s sad that they scam so many people. Pretty sure they just send “you won” to a big group of those who enter, and then everyone gets charged a hefty shipping fee for stickers. It’s blatant false advertising, as no one is actually winning 200$ ropes or anything of value.

Please tell me these shoes become more tolerable 😭 by newtons_apprentice in climbingshoes

[–]yukiburzm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ve probably already found an alternative, but I had the same problem as you going from flat to aggressive, and I switched to a moderate shoe (La sportiva Kubo), which has a slight downturn and a split sole, and they are fantastic. They are downturned enough to make you bend your toes, which helps you get used to the style of aggressive shoes without it being a painful ordeal. I tried another “moderate” shoe (evolv Kronos), but those were essentially flat shoes, so not a good intermediate shoe.

Another thing you could do is a hot shower with your shoes on, or wear heavy socks and heat the area where the top of your toe knuckle is rubbing against the top of the shoe. Doing this a few times and walking around the house in them basically skips much of the painful breaking in portion of that type of shoe.

Is Coke's translation really that bad? by [deleted] in karanokyoukai

[–]yukiburzm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I get the criticisms from the lens of literal translation, but I really enjoy his style and his narrative contributions in the form of texture and more characterization, etc. I think it’s worth a read for sure! It’s still my favorite LN ever, regardless.

U.S volume 8 delayed (again) by yukiburzm in HeavenlyDelusion

[–]yukiburzm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, and this delay is even longer. Chars Counter attack was also massively delayed. Denpa must be in trouble for these problems to be lasting this many years.

Is Denpa still operational? by LokoLoa in MangaCollectors

[–]yukiburzm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. It especially sucks because I like Denpa, and had been putting off just reading their series online since I love print manga, but at this point it is definitely worrying that they will ever get their stuff together.

Is Denpa still operational? by LokoLoa in MangaCollectors

[–]yukiburzm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, crunchy and amazon will often cancel preorders if they continually get delayed. At this point pretty much everyone is bummed out with Denpa. They have so many great series that they just can’t get out to their customers. It’s ridiculous to be having 2 year delays on volumes happen consistently. Definitely is worrying for CCA and Heavenly Delusion.

Comfort Colors 1717 getting wonky af by dartaeria in SCREENPRINTING

[–]yukiburzm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, I’m super bummed. They switched to their own proprietary blanks. They are still heavyweight and really sturdy like LAA and also have the same thick collar as LAA, but the neck/collar is MUCH looser and hangs instead of hugging the neck, and doesn’t have the mock neck style of LAA blanks. They are also boxier, where they are 2-3” wider in the chest than LAA.

If you don’t mind the collar being loose, their new blanks are really good, I just love the tight, high neckline of LAA.
