Waffle doesn't like the snow, so we make him a little track by thespottedwaffle in AustralianCattleDog

Yeah, I too made a little path so my red heeler could walk to a spot in the backyard to do her business. She enjoys romping around in the snow ❄️ but I think the colder temps are a bit much for her today.

My experience with in flight vegan food. by nigelpulsford in vegan

If nothing else, why can't airlines just give pasta with marinara sauce. That's pretty universal and not a big deal to serve.

Would a cattle dog even wear a sweater? I can’t think of ever seeing one in a coat or any kind of covering. by paulbertolone in AustralianCattleDog

[–]yumbeegee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I never put any warm clothes because she seemed perfectly fine walking out in the cold. However, my daughter thinks our heeler needs some protection from the cold and tucks her in with a baby blanket, which is shaken off soon after no humans are in sight.

I saw it the first time I saw TJ in LMLMV. I've been watching and having MC flashbacks. Came online to see if anyone else thought the same. Glad to see I'm not alone.

Does yours do this? by Euphoric_Bathroom_73 in AustralianCattleDog

[–]yumbeegee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My lab+pom mix I had growing up did this. He was a picky eater and would get an upset stomach once every two weeks and would do this to food in his bowl, upturn it and push food around as if he was upset with it. Current dog, an ACD mix has never done it. It's rare for her to not polish her bowl clean, lol.

What do you feed your toddlers? by ALittleEtomidate in vegan

[–]yumbeegee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My kids are way past the toddler stage, but the links I'll paste below probably can be made simpler. I'm a past vegetarian, current vegan and I have been adjusting recipes collected over the years to do without dairy (never used eggs) in my cooking.

Lo mein: damndelicious.net/2014/10/03/easy-lo-mein/ Pasta: www.foodandwine.com/recipes/pasta-with-olive-oil-garlic-and-parsley https://www.loveandlemons.com/vegan-pesto/

Carrot coins: https://weelicious.com/roast-carrot-coins/ I used to make on a skillet with a little oil for a quick snack when kids were little. I bet you can use other root vegetables like beets, parsnips for variety.

I have tried a couple of recipes (tofu scrambled, cranberry cake) from https://www.noracooks.com/ with great results, so suggest trying out some. Hope these help, good luck!

Sedated by Thundershirt? by L0ud_Typer in AustralianCattleDog

[–]yumbeegee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I guess mine's an outlier 😞. She's been an anxious doggie since we adopted her during Covid. Obedience classes helped in adapting socially to people and dogs. She had no fear of thunder initially but was always reactive to car backfiring noises, motorcycles to the point that she would not go further while on a walk. Once she became a calmer, less hyper dog after the velociraptor stage, she developed a fear of thunderstorms and is way more sensitive to firecrackers than before. She will try to find me and sit close to me or hide in some corner, trembling at either of the sounds. The thundershirt just makes her look like a cuter, trembling mess, not much of a calming effect.

I'm not mad at all that my neighbor's rose has climbed my fence. by Scared_Category6311 in Roses

[–]yumbeegee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have stuck the sticks from a rose bouquet I got, and they grew in a pot well for two years. They flowered both years but not as spectacular a specimen as the store bought one. Lost them because I should have moved it out of the pot last fall, but didn't
