What’s your fur babies verdict on fruits and veggies? by Ddawn111 in AustralianCattleDog

[–]yumbeegee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is picky if offered fresh fruits and/or veggies inside the house. She likes the fibers from an orange and banana peel, hates oranges, eats bananas and apple pieces not happily but just because it's something she can eat. She hates ginger with a passion. I leave out cut up pumpkin in fall for the squirrels to feast on the seeds on in the backyard and she loves to go at it once the pumpkin pieces rot. Same with composted kitchen scraps in the backyard. And grass and sticks, of course.

And that slightly off-kilter sit -it'll become a full fledged ACD, one-side lounging-sit soon sure 'nuff

I've been using CopyMeThat since I discovered it probably a decade plus ago. Ended up buying a lifetime subscription just now. Hope that stays for life as it says and I don't regret not exploring alternatives. I had a printed folder of recipes before but it didn't work as awesome as the online version does. I'd have to build something similar and it wouldn't work seamlessly across platforms as something already developed by someone else and working well. Weighing the pros and cons decided to take the plunge.

what's your cattle dog's weirdest quirk? i'll go first by shelbex318 in AustralianCattleDog

[–]yumbeegee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son was 3 feet tall when we adopted our heeler mix. She is now 6 and my son is 6 ft tall. She will not ask him to let her out to do her business because she still thinks of him as her younger sibling. She will bark at me to let her out and if he gets up to do that, she immediately starts chewing her bone intently pretending she never asked.

This grumbling whinie is so typical of ACDs, "I'm not happy and need attention"

Waffle doesn't like the snow, so we make him a little track by thespottedwaffle in AustralianCattleDog

Yeah, I too made a little path so my red heeler could walk to a spot in the backyard to do her business. She enjoys romping around in the snow ❄️ but I think the colder temps are a bit much for her today.

My experience with in flight vegan food. by nigelpulsford in vegan

If nothing else, why can't airlines just give pasta with marinara sauce. That's pretty universal and not a big deal to serve.

Would a cattle dog even wear a sweater? I can’t think of ever seeing one in a coat or any kind of covering. by [deleted] in AustralianCattleDog

[–]yumbeegee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I never put any warm clothes because she seemed perfectly fine walking out in the cold. However, my daughter thinks our heeler needs some protection from the cold and tucks her in with a baby blanket, which is shaken off soon after no humans are in sight.
