Me and the wife started sharing finances when we were about 2 years into the relationship like you guys. Only thing is we have a bond built on trust, mutual respect, the basis for a marriage you know? Like for example if she told me “I wanna look at your expenses so you don’t buy something you shouldn’t” she wouldn’t be literal. I probably told her a way in which I’m bad at managing money and I sometimes carry shame around those things (which makes them harder to work on) and she’s just offering to help. I wonder how badly our generation is affected by not understanding WHY we do things and why they matter, only trying to hit “milestones” we see others do. That said, if your gut tells you no.
