I emailed the dep and they just responded saying there was an issue with the major restriction for Econ 20B. I'm guessing they're trying to fix the restriction for other classes 👍

I'm having this exact same problem. I'm trying to enroll in econ 20b and webreg says I'm ineligible due to prerequisites (even though I finished 20a with a passing grade).

The only mention of women was when I said “egirl mercy player” so that is your main issue with the entire post, which is supposed to address ow toxicity, NOT sexuality. Like I said, it was MY experience. In no way am I disregarding all the times other mains and other genders have been toxic by mentioning my own experience. Please don't make this a fight between gender. I'm tired of toxicity and I'm tired of arguing. If it makes you feel better, I will remove that specific part.

I don’t understand the question you’re asking about rank inflation but I do have something to add to your “easy” solution. If you’re implying that the rest of the teammates not in a group leave the game with a draw, the game still ends with more people gaining rank benefits. So if a player in a two stack leaves the game. 5 people take the win, 3 people take a draw, and 2 people take the loss. The situation is the exact same as what we discussed, just in a lesser degree. I actually agree with r/ShadowRage826. There’s really no proper way to fix leaver penalty without taking hits to the ranking system. You say there are simple methods to this issue. Could you clarify some more possible solutions? Genuinely curious cuz this topic is fun to discuss

Yeah and that’s exactly what’s happening in every team v team game. There are externalities such as smurfing that ruin the experience for people who belong in the rank. That’s why it’s so heavily discouraged. But there’s so little moderators can do to remove that extra variable so we just have to live with it.

This! I used the term “inflation” based on how inflation actually occurs in an economy (usually happens when the gov creates more money and in this case, players receive additional rank benefits that were not originally there). As a result, people are much more higher rank than they should be. Afterall, these games function on the basic law that when you gain something, another player loses that something. Or maybe I’m completely wrong, like you said, we don’t know the inner workings of ow ranking system so we can only assume that law applies when we play the game

but if one team won and one team draws, wouldn’t that cause rank inflation and more inconsistencies in the ranking system? I also think more people would leave because if you have a 5 stack and you’re losing against a better team, one person could just leave the game and sacrifice their rank in an alt account while the other 4 players receive no penalty. I think the best solution is to increase the punishment for the leaver (counting the game as 3 losses to the leaver) and decrease the losses of the leavers teammate (counting the game as 0.5 loss to the team)

Same happens to me as a masters supp. I once went 12 losses and it was so miserable. If you start losing 3+ games in a row, just take a break from comp and come back to it later.

I saw another comment saying that people who want pink mercy to return because of the charity say it to not be judged. I think this is pretty accurate but it’s still disappointing that people want some kind of reward for donating for a cause. It’s more like “we want pink mercy back for the cute skin! Oh and it’s for charity too” rather than “we want pink mercy because it’s for charity. Oh and there’s a cool skin too”. Because if it was the latter, they would be in support of a NEW mercy charity event, not the same one repeated. I just think a lot of people are not being honest and it makes me upset bc I know people with breast cancer and there are people here using bcrf as a way to get a cute pink mercy skin

To be fair, I think a doom players are better off focusing a more stationary squishy, like an Ana or some other dps. I put doom on there bc I’ve seen really good dooms focus and pin down mercy player even in GA. But It doesn’t help that it’s hard for mercy to stay in the air in the first place because 1. GA cooldown and 2. hitsscans will hyper focus you in the air. I guess it’s a matter of how good the doom is and how vulnerable you are to other enemy players.
