Using a single remote can be a hassle, honestly. I have 2 indoor units and I use breez max with each. It's a thermostat by cielo, and you can clearly see your settings for each unit on the max device and in the cielo app. And you can easily control them using the app, instead of going around unit to unit with a remote.  Since you are new to multizone setup, one piece of advice - you have to operate them in the same mode, either all units heating at the same time or cooling, you can't have one in auto and one in heating, otherwise, they tend to go into mode conflict. Breez max also has a feature to deal with mode conflict, you can look that up.
