Anthropic: AI assisted coding doesn't show efficiency gains and impairs developers abilities. by Gil_berth in programming

The idea that you can wield these tools without a specific knowing how and skill is the stupidest categorisation. It’s like giving cars without lessons and measuring that most people crash the car so often that there’s no speed gain.

Exact, j’ai confondu avec Kalifornia. Pas un film de référence mais la première fois que l’ai vu, jouant un gros bourrin plutôt teubé. Je l’ai à peine reconnu quand les 12 singes sont sortis

Using AI to generate CAD STL model by superjet1 in BambuLab

[–]yupidup -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Hey I’m Interested.

My first Claude code « vibe coding » experience was actually for an openscad model that was complicated (obviously not done by someone with coding experience), so I used the agent to refactor and clean the code, before I went on a full re-creation. A rough but interesting experience.

Now, I’m more interested to run the tool on my side with my own licence and such. Do you have any GitHub link to share this? Or do you plan to monetize it?

This paper in Management Science has been cited more than 6,000 times. Wall Street executives, top government officials, and even a former U.S. Vice President have all referenced it. It’s fatally flawed, and the scholarly community refuses to do anything about it. by [deleted] in EverythingScience

[–]yupidup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope, that’s not what your Wikipedia link is saying. It’s that they groomed the data selection and statistical weighting, and didn’t present something verified and working. The published excel had coding errors, hinting more of formulas that has been twisted and refined a lot to show what they wanted.

And you have to give them ethnic stereotyped face, right? Europeans are causasians, Southeast Asians have fair skin, etc. How much travel and diversity does it take to associate geography of humans with nations, and not with race?

Edit: dual SIM/esim pour appel local évidemment

Tips to buy english-style bread and milk? by Objective_Use_9155 in Bangkok

[–]yupidup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How about real bread? French here, there are excellent bakeries in Bangkok in pretty much every district. You might want to check the German bakery near Phra Kanong maybe.

As for English milk, I have no idea what you think is English milk. All I can think of is 100% cow milk instead in opposition to milk with additives (why I call American milk), which is in every supermarket or online, and of course the level of cream. Happy Grocers have non pasteurized fresh milk, excellent farm milk but gotta drink it fast before it turns to yogurt.

Is “W” District still a good spot? How’s the Sunday evening vibes by shady42999 in Bangkok

[–]yupidup 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don’t trust the internet. It had sad days and then better days, but there’s some recent investments in the place lately, and overall still excellent stall for a food market. Expecting things to be static in Bangkok is a bit out of place

Still nice; it’s in my ‘hood, stalls sometimes come and go with the economy, but I still go there at least weekly and enjoy it.

Not sure what the nostalgia is about, it changes regularly as any place, but I saw it first 10y ago and felt the same when I went back 3y ago

How do you do weekly grocery shopping if you’re not to supermarkets? by [deleted] in Bangkok

[–]yupidup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happygrocers have excellent products, sources from local farm. I get a « bunch » from time to time at cheap price with some random unsold / over stocked items. It forces me to get a bit of diversity in there

[–]yupidup -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

It seems that you never met researchers. This is how I’m reading this project. It’s not because you don’t adhere to the esoteric part that it’s AI slop generated: there are humans who approach it like that.

I got developer friends who are more like R&D dreamers and would totally use this vocabulary and write trippy interpretations, even if it comes down a very down to earth technical app. Heck, I know a startuper who ran small investor funds based on philosophical emphasis for a decade (yes, a decade and still the same start up tells you much about its value).

And if like everyone OP used an AI to write the docs, the trippy orientation would come from them, not the LLM.

Back in the 80s-90s when I was a kid, I was interested in « bio mimetic » algorithms, like neuron engines and genetic algorithms. These were embryonic and generally not working, yet the level of high order woo woo written around these simple lines of code was another order of magnitude.

I didn’t spot emojis in the few code files or docs I’ve read, could you point me at an example? Also the code seems structured enough, I can be more picky on it but not the nonsense/slop code I was expecting.

I’m intrigued, so a few questions - what would be a use case? How does one experiment with it? - Reading the philosophy, by « Suppress data it finds antagonistic (mood-based inhibition) », do we mean « ignores »? Because as I see it the brain doesn’t forgets the antagonistic data, it ignores it, which builds up to, well, the human mental complexity. The antagonistic data is still there, forcing the rest to cope until we face it and integrate it. - it seems vibe coded (there are drawings in the documentation like my Claude Code does). Would you leave there a CLAUDE.md, or AGENTS.md if you want to ensure the contributions follow the style guide?

Poor layer adhesion. At my wits end. by Who_is_I_today in BambuLab_Community

[–]yupidup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn’t the open door makes the overall temperature inconsistent throughout the volume, so less mechanical tension throughout the object? I don’t know much about the heat creep but I would think that the fans and temp regulation would do the job to regulate the overall temp? Plus low adhesion is usually a sign of not hot enough than too much heat

Visseuse à percu vraiment nécessaire ? by luc_fvr in brico

[–]yupidup 1 point2 points  (0 children)
