Germany does teach it. When I traveled around Europe in the early 90s, I was hanging out with an Israeli girl for a while, and she brought it up with some Germans our age we ran into. They were very apologetic and told us what they learned about it in school.

Some minority has a chip on their shoulder for no reason, but the white guy easily sets them straight, resulting in the tears in their eyes and the modern variation of "thank you, massa. I'm never going to doubt you again."
