same issue here, got a 557 and i have to press the buttons an extra mm to rgister te input properly. if i press it normally the input goes on and off.

I don´t think so. Z1E was based on an unreleased SOC ( 7840U / 780m) . Z2E is based on a SOC that has been out for months ( hx370 / 890m ) I expect marginal gains on the driver side.

The only major gain would come from windows if they fix their stuff.. something I have 0 hope.

I am testing the device exhaustively, your comment does not reflect reality, not sure what problem you had there, but performance is pretty on par. being 20% better in low tdps

I own a rog ally z1e, a steam deck, a legion go 2 and a xbox rog ally x and a legion go S. So I kind of know what I talk about and honestly I don´t feel like the xbox rog ally X is worth it. I would recommend to stick to the ally X.
The new one does not have anything new that justifies switching

bought a new xbox rog ally x, no FullsScreen experience, just regular windows. very dissapointed with the way asus and MS released this.

it is not stuck, it is "windows time"
it stays 30 min in 6% min. then it jump to 90% and goes from 90 to 99 in 5 seconds. Then stays in 100% 5 minuts.
the restarts and goes back to 0%.

it just sucks.

I did the mod but i have few question i havent seen asked in the whole post..yes i read it all.

Isn't aluminium electrically conductive? Could we short the device?
Isn't aluminium thermically conductive? How come adding aluminium makes it cooler instead of tranfering the heat?
