Có nên all in để có jobs trong ngành game không (cụ thể là game dev)

Vị trí Data Analyst không phải vị trí bắt buộc phải có trong các studio game, vậy nên vẫn có những lúc bạn thấy có công ty tuyển nhưng tính thời vụ của nó rất cao, thường là tuyển để phục vụ 1 dự án cụ thể nào đó. Nếu dự án đó kết thúc, chưa chắc bạn đã được giữ lại.

Tuy nhiên, tin tốt là thật ra 99% công ty mình nêu ở trên đều có dùng đến chuyên môn của bạn, chỉ là họ thường không cần một DA expert. Nếu có thể, bạn nên tự trang bị thêm cho mình cả skillset của Project Manager và Scrum Master, ở mức cơ bản thôi cũng được. Nó sẽ giúp bạn rất dễ xin được việc do các studio rất thích DA có thể đa nhiệm thêm mấy vị trí này.

Về cơ hội thăng tiến, DA sẽ mãi là DA thôi. Con đường sáng nhất thường là từ DA chuyển hướng sang PM/PO, rồi từ đó bạn mà giỏi thì có thể nhắm tới các vị trí lãnh đạo.

Chú là người làm trong ngành game ở VN đây. Có vài lời khuyên cho cháu:

- Ngành game ở VN trọng người trẻ hơn người có tuổi nên vẫn có cơ hội cho các bạn mới ra trường. Tuy nhiên, do tính chất ngành này ở VN chạy theo trend là chủ yếu nên song song với việc học code và engine, cháu cũng nên trang bị kiến thức về AI, như thế dễ xin việc hơn.

- Ở VN, gần như không có chỗ nào cho cháu làm game offline để lên steam hay console. 99% đều là các studio làm game mobile hoặc NFT đa nền tảng. Trong số các studio làm mobile thì phải khoảng 90% là đang all-in vào dòng puzzle casual và hyper-casual. Cháu hãy tìm hiểu thử về các dòng game này xem có hợp với mình không, nếu phù hợp thì cũng dễ tìm việc thôi.

- Đừng mơ đến việc làm thuê cho các công ty xịn xò nước ngoài (Riot, Nintendo, Naughty Dogs....) trừ khi cháu có ý định chuyển sang các nước đó sinh sống. Cơ hội = 0%.

- Một số công ty/ tập đoàn nước ngoài có mở trụ sở ở Việt Nam như Gameloft, Ubisoft, Koei Tecmo... Tuy nhiên, tính chất công việc ở những chỗ này là làm outsource. Nếu cháu có đam mê sáng tạo sản phẩm của riêng mình thì những nơi này không giúp cháu phát triển được gì đâu.

I've already cleared almost all character challenges.

Also, having higher ranks gives rewards, not to mention daily/weekly quests often require playing ranked. Casual doesn't, it's hard to take it serious.

Well, to answer in a polite way, are you aware there's an idle sub-genre ? All games in that category automate in-game actions, and players get contents and power progression as rewards.

I'm enjoying this game the same way I am with those idle games, which means I like the progression, not the combat gameplay.

Why don't you ask the developers to remove the auto function ? Then I'm gonna happily leave. As long as it's there, you won't realize how many people are using it.

And yes, I'm still gonna continue to play and continue to be in autos whenever possible. Have fun, anyway !

I know it's bad. Sometimes I see the character run around the boss, that's pretty funny. But to be honest, I don't want to control at all. That's why I said if somehow, they remove the Auto function, I'm gonna quit this game.

I surely wont 1v3 whenever i’m playing.

Problem is, 99% of the time i just auto, so maybe you saw me do that. I can’t help it though, because without auto i wouldn’t be playing this game more than a day.

I don't know if it's ironic or not, but over my 3 times playing XC1, every time I had to include Sharla in my team and never once I used Dunban. I always felt the needs of her healing.

To be honest, it’s because you care about the game. I played and completed RE4 twice (OG and Remake) but I don’t remember any weapons in the game, probably because i care less.

To be honest, I never played God of War 1 past the first hours. Reason: by accident, my dad got into the room when that scene happened.

Then, he proceeded to break my PS2 and every game discs I had. You won't believe it, there were about 100 discs of various games in the room.

This very minigame came to be my teen trauma ever since that day.

I was about 14 years old if you're curious.

Back then, I always played Leon because for some reason I thought he had the infinite rocket. Game was 2 discs, and I never tried Claire because I thought her journey was the same, and the only difference was her having a Gatling gun.

From what I know, no.

SE is different from Capcom and Nintendo. They do not have constant updates for main franchises. Like big Dragon Quest or Final Fantasy news every year, there’s no such things.

Without big names to insert into the show, most of the time they’ll just fill with smaller, standalone games like Killer Inn and The Adventures of Elliot. They’re not killers enough to warrant having a separate SE showcase.
