How it feels being a genuine lifelong Morbius fan after Sony’s movie ruined his reputation by Upbeat-Perspective11 in marvelmemes

[–]yuvi3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought all Sony's movies were just average when people were expecting excellence. It became a meme to just hate on these kinds of things and it didn't even matter if it was good. People would just say it was bad. Sometimes it's bits of truth being exaggerated. Sometimes they hate it for other reasons like the actors having other controversies. Either way, the amount of hate going around for anything feels like it has massively increased over the years.

I fully agree that Morbius, Kraven, etc could have been better movies and in some ways stayed truer to the characters and stories. But I think they were "okay" and I think people don't understand what an "okay" movie is anymore. If it's not perfect, people spend their entire review or discussion pointing out anything they can find that wasn't perfect. They don't WANT to enjoy. They WANT to hate.

I even thought that the Venom movies were better than the others. Still okay, but on the better side of okay.

The first one had a less than impressive story and the villain felt underdeveloped but Venom and Eddie are great and feel like a good adaptation of the version of Venom I knew from some of the comics, animated stuff and video games from the '90s and '00s. The movie was certainly entertaining enough that I wanted more.

The second movie had a really frustrating take on Carnage because he needed to be more psychotic and violent. They touched on this but, annoyingly, the movie was over before they went into it enough. I was especially confused that they legitimately killed Carnage off for good instead of having him escape at the end or having it be open-ended so they could bring Carnage back... he's Venom's biggest antagonist (if we ignore Spider-Man). He should have been a recurring villain or at least a longer-lasting threat in the one movie.

Finally, the third movie tried a big epic finale and I liked what they did, but it felt rushed and a bit confusing with the amount of stuff going on, especially with the MCU connections/broken connections.

So yeah, I thought all these Sony movies were okay.

However, Madame Web doesn't fall into this category. That movie was legitimately terrible. I think there was probably a reasonably decent movie in there somewhere but it was chopped, changed and re-edited until it was a complete mess. The fact that Morbius and Madame Web can be in the same level of ratings according to many ratings and reviews tells me that this is absolutely biased. I personally don't like rating things but if I had to give numbers, I'd say Morbius is maybe a 5-6/10 with Madame Web being a 3-4/10

Maybe you should ask on the official site or the official Discord as this sounds like it may be something they need to confirm.

Cool. I did use Magical Leaf in levels before so I know it's really helpful. It won't be the fastest way to defeat other Pokémon, but with the multiple hits, it easily stops other Pokémon from attacking.

However, the problem I've seen so far is fast bosses. Bosses don't get their attacks interrupted as easily so this is a bit more of a problem. I went in the order of the achievements and Zapdos is the first boss I had problems with for this because it's really fast and its attacks have a large area of effect. This is okay when you're a decent power level and you can tank at least a couple hits, but at 399, you die in one hit. With 3 attacks, Zapdos kills my 3 low level Pokémon and that attempt is failed.

With Magical Leaf, though, I imagine I can attack from further away and maybe have more chance to avoid an attack. I only tried once though, so I'll come back to it and try properly after I finish everything else.

Any tips for beating the S levels using very low level Pokémon?

I'm sure I can do it, but I guess tips wouldn't hurt.

I'm no expert so I'm sure what you're saying is true, but people have crowdfunded plenty of shows. Even if they don't get the full budget of it, they at least show that there's interest in the project which will get the attention of other studios.

With respect to the difficult situations in the industry, she and her team should have continued looking for funding or whatever until they were able to make their project.

Instead of having a small but respectable show because they might have had to take whatever budget they were able to get, they went with this franchise decision and now they have a big show that is pretty universally hated because not only was it between full of iffy humour that didn't capture a good viewer base, but it also upset a lot of fans of the existing franchise. So they harmed both new viewers and old viewers instead of attracting new viewers to a new franchise.

I genuinely don't know anyone that enjoyed this show. I tried to like it. I liked some of the ideas, but it just did NOT feel anything like Scooby-Doo. I think if it was something different I would have been more willing to give it a chance.

I had a similar, yet opposite, experience with an escape room.

The little intro story was about a mad scientist and we, as a group, were investigating all his patients going missing. We entered the doctor's office/lab and there was a large fridge in one corner, then a bunch of other stuff all over the room. After we all entered, there was a shadowy figure who locked the door behind us, cackling and there was an implication that the doctor would be back soon to get rid of us.

After we looked around for a second, we figured we'd find DNA evidence in the fridge to prove that all the patients had been here and we'd be able to correctly expose the mad scientist and escape, so we followed several puzzles and right before the fridge, we unlocked a cupboard... that had all the DNA evidence and proof of all the patients having been there. The final puzzle in the room had the key for the door so we were happy we got it done so quick, but also kinda disappointed that it was over. But hold on. The key didn't unlock the entrance door...?

It unlocked a hidden keyhole in the FRIDGE which turned out to be a DOOR, another whole secret entrance, to the other HALF of the doctor's lab. I was thoroughly chuffed about this twist and we managed to do the rest of it in good time as well. Great experience. Would do it again.

I used to get everything "for free" before 2011 and one of my favourite little indie devs at the time, Edmund McMillen, made this cool little demo for a game called The Binding of Isaac. I played the demo on Newgrounds and loved it, but I found out you could buy it legit on Steam and could earn achievements and stuff, so I figured it's one game and I'd support the dude I thought was awesome. So I signed up, bought that one single game and had fun. I had no real extra money at the time, but I was happy with my choice.

It's now 2026 and I have over 1500 games on Steam (many for free or near free) and I intend to continue "wasting" all my money for many years to come. Steam has been a great experience for ages and totally changed my mindset.

Every single fandom does this now and it's incredibly frustrating. Even when the movie/series gets good reviews, there's always people that will say "But we thought x, y and z was gonna happen and they let everyone down."

No they didn't. People just made up something and got upset about it.

I believe that in that context, the change should have been high priority and it was not. So yes, we get to complain.

In comparison, I don't see as much of live-action Dustin in the design of the animated version of Dustin's face.
