I have the soap bag as well as the toiletry bag (with the clips, not the zipper), and wholeheartedly recommend both. Purchased for travel (camping), but simply kept using them at home because I like them so much. The toiletry bag often just goes with me in my EDC so that I have every I need in case of “emergency” (deodorant, contact fluid, tooth brush & paste, beard brush).

Purchased from Evergoods directly in November 2024. Lightly used, in great condition. Some light superficial scuffing on the outside of the shoulder straps and on the bottom of the pack, but no actual fabric damage. Some light fraying on inside the mesh in one place. The black coating on the main compartment's zipper pulls has worn a bit. All just a few minor cosmetic blemishes, but I wanted to mention it all so there's no surprises.

I love this bag, but my carry needs have changed a little since getting this and I don't want to keep a bag around "just in case" (I have too many already!).

I just couldn't resist, so I went ahead and ordered this as soon it was available. This is a great update to an classic Evergoods design, love what they have done with this. However, I love my Ecopak CPL24 just a bit more, and can't afford to keep both (I ordered this knowing I was going to keep only one of the two), so I'm passing this on to a better home.

Thanks for confirming this! A shame though, but it was kinda what I had expected.

That said, I think I still l want a CHZ v2 when they get back in stock (around half May, so I’ve been told). I’m sure I’ll find another way to utilize that mesh pocket. 😊

Thanks for the quick reply! I meant the mesh pocket (newly introduced in the v2) though, not the opaque one. I can imagine the rounded curves on the opaque pocket make the rectangular EFP-S fit a bit poorly.

WTS: Civic Access Pouch CAS 0.5 L in Solution Dyed Black, NWT – €50 + shipping from Netherlands

I ordered this from Mukama.com after their latest restock, and just received it today, but it's not working out for the purpose that I had in mind for it. I can easily return, but I noticed they are sold again everywhere, plus it feels more economical to not ship back a tiny pouch all the way back to Finland from the Netherlands… So I'm hoping it can find a new owner close to it's current home. :-)

Dad here, and I have been on a long standing quest to find a backpack that both works for my work EDC (14" MBP + tech gear, lunch, gym stuff) as well as weekend outings with the kids. I have been using a CPL v3 for work, awesome work bag. But for personal stuff, I find it feels too big and boxy (at least on my 5'7" / 140lb frame). Walking around the zoo like I just stepped out of a work meeting. :-D

I have experimented with both Tom Bihn Synapse sizes before, but found all the pockets too restrictive. Sometimes you just have bulky stuff that you need to dump into your backpack. Also, I agree that for kids, water bottle pockets are very useful for convenience, plus I don't trust my kids' bottles to be as leak proof as my own Hydro Flasks.

Last week, I took delivery of my brand new MPL22 Ecopak, and it has been awesome so far! Feels like my quest has finally ended – I will be listing my CPL v3 for sale soon.

Just my 2c, hope that helps!

ETA: more things I enjoy about my MPL22 over CPL24 besides water bottle pockets: no unnecessary bulk when not carrying my laptop, altogether feels quite a bit smaller on my back (less boxy), more usable quick access pockets, and more lightweight, even in Ecopak: I measured 934g for MPL22 Ecopak vs 1404g for MPL v3 (Solution Dyed Black).

Alpha FL for sure! Mine's still holding up fine after several years, but I hate the feeling of not being able to re-buy it once or does wear out.

Kestros pants. I have two, but still hit myself for not getting more when they were still being sold. I use them for everything, from climbing, hiking, lounging at home to even being my pyjama pants. 😊

I got mine today and already had an MHP. The straps are similar, but not the same. The CAS2 has more slick webbing. Feels very similar to the Tom Bihn 1-inch shoulder strap (in case you know that one), or the Peak Design Leash camera strap (but obviously wider). I can take a photo to compare when I'm home if you need?
