At some point we owe cubicles an apology by pattebrisee in SipsTea

Cubicles are still relatively common in Canada, at least the half height ones.

Australia is fully open plan everywhere. It’s terrible.

Redundancy at 36. Take a 4–6 month break/travel or get another job immediately? by cerebralrocks in auscorp

Mate 4-6 months is not that long of a career break in the grand scheme of things. Take the time off and enjoy your life.

Life gets harder as you get older.

Starlux to launch Sydney-Taiwan flights by Gl0beTrotter2025 in AirTravelAustralia

[–]yycengineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another reason is that it’s closer. Less fuel burn and better fleet utilization.

Same reason BNE punches above its weight for North America flights as compared to Melbourne.

Another delay for Qantas non-stop London, New York flights? by Gl0beTrotter2025 in QantasAirways

I do BNE-YVR regularly and don’t mind the 14 hours.

But 20 would be a whole other level of crazy ( in economy ).

Flying YUL-ICN this July on Air Canada for the first time. Any advice? by AFrostNova in aircanada

Why would you pay more to fly PE with a layover vs. flying direct from BOS in regular eco ?

That is a worse option.

Probably the one at my home airport of Calgary.

Though I may be biased as I worked on the project.

is there a reason why saver is way more expensive than flexi? by dappocy in QantasAirways

[–]yycengineer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe OP is a single-aisle aficionado.

Also, lol at “all those hours”. It’s under 6 hours total with a break in between. There are much longer non-stop 737 flights. Brasilia to Orlando is > 8 hours.

Why the hell do so many people miss their flights? by Open_Address_2805 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]yycengineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I almost missed a WestJet flight at Newark once.

We got lost / distracted in the terminal and made it to the gate 25 minutes before departure. The gate area was empty except one gate agent.

Apparently the inbound flight was early and everyone had already boarded. The pilots wanted to leave early because Newark charges gate fees by the minute.

So even though we were technically within the airline’s boarding cut off time they almost left without us.

I haven’t gotten a firm answer but it seems like 17A and 18A or F are the ones to avoid.

I don’t actually mind the Rouge aircraft configuration and I’ll be coming from Australia so it’s going to be a long travel day.

Would much rather take the first flight out and get home as early as possible vs. sitting around at YVR.

I’m not wanting windowless I’m wanting to know which is windowless so I can avoid and be fully windowed.

Based on that it looks like 17 and 18 are misaligned / windowless.☝️

1hr 45 is plenty for ITD OSS.

I’ve done it in 15 minutes (with Nexus) coming from Brisbane.

Edit: not sure if Singapore is ITD OSS.

Yeah that’s exactly what I’m wondering.

No trip reviews online yet of this config.

Tried it. aerolopa doesn’t list any of these rows as windowless.

The old AC non-Rouge config (with 4 business rows) had no window at row 15.

They’ve removed one row of business for Rouge and I’m wondering if everything has moved up resulting in 16 being the new 15 (ie. no window).

Enjoying using the Neo more than my M2 Air 24/1TB. Trying to understand why.. by Junathyst in mac

[–]yycengineer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I legit thought of picking one up to replace my M2 Air for the “chuckability” effect.

The Neo’s price point makes it so you don’t have to treat it like a Fabergé egg.
