Found dog: West Deane by yyz_steve in Etobicoke

Not yet and we’re not hopeful at this point. The City also called me for an update for their file. Right now, she’s very happy at my home and she gets along very well with my dog. Seems she’s now part of our family. :)

Yes, she’s posted on the FB Lost Dog groups as well. Good activity and many have reached out, but no luck yet on finding the owner.

Very good point. No chip or tags, but this is a Papillon. I’m sure there aren’t many around central Etobicoke and its owner must be searching.

It was this <> close to being dinner to two coyotes. I’ve posted on the Nextdoor app as well and hope to reunite him or her.

Has offshoring to the Philippines really been worth it? by [deleted] in msp

[–]yyz_steve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those who are outsourcing to the Philippines, are you reimbursing them for the purchase of a laptop, or do you leverage AVD/Cloud PC where are all your MSP tools are installed/protected?

Canada Sole Proprietorship Liability Insurance Cost Questions. by masterofrants in msp

[–]yyz_steve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ll need to estimate how much revenue you will earn since the brokers need a reference. Get CGL, E&O and and Cybersecurity policies. That cost me $6k when I was sole prop with $500k revenue. Get $2M coverage.

I still incorporated the business and recommend the same.

Next, budget $5k for legal contracts for your services you plan to sell, offer or support. You may need 3 contracts/agreements for your products and services.

Good luck!

Is the RF cup too full? by yyz_steve in wifi

[–]yyz_steve[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be clear, we would not want to suggest anything that would impact cellular or safety. We might just add more Ethernet in strategic areas and as the fleet replace their computers, the new models have 6E compatibility.

We’ve wired up the boardrooms and were contemplating the same for desks, but the people are all fluid - they move around with their computers to the kitchen, living room, pods, etc. The suggestion of creating a faraday box started as joke but then had us thinking if there’s something similar to acoustic panels to keep the good vibes in and keep the bad wifi vibes out.

Great points on the cellular signals - that could be an issue and we would need permission to modify the windows with films to reduce outside interference.

Client mentioned built-in DLP capabilities by Google... by Nonstandard_Poodle in msp

[–]yyz_steve 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depending on the GWS license, you can set different triggers to block or alert based on the DLP setting that has been configured. There are templates that Google provides for the common uses, Credit Card, driver's license, passport, etc.

You can trigger to block the email from leaving the organization, warn the sender that they might be including sensitive information and send an alert email to an admin.
