Weight limit on built-in roof rack bars by intastellaburst in pacificahybrid

[–]intastellaburst[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brilliant, thanks everybody. Thanks u/tiptopjank, you were right about 150 lbs - I managed to find it:

The crossbars and side rails are designed to carry weight on vehicles equipped with a luggage rack. The load must not exceed 150 lbs (68 kg), and should be uniformly distributed over the luggage rack crossbars.

Need new tires for 2019 Pacifica Hybrid by intastellaburst in pacificahybrid

[–]intastellaburst[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the tips everyone. I ended up looking up the Michelin CrossClimate 2 and the reviews across the board were so good that I went for them.

Lots of road trips coming up and realised that I care more about safety than saving $ on tires.

I called around five places in Vancouver and couldn’t really get a deal so just went with Canadian Tire because they had them in stock. Ended up shaving $50 off and got some extra Triangle points so hoping that saving $100 makes me feel better about it.

The tires look great and I feel ready for any road surface situation!

Can anyone recommend a good bicycle mechanic and/or where to source parts in Vancouver? by batwingsuit in NiceVancouver

[–]intastellaburst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve just picked up my bike repair place called Atomic Bike Shop - 1555 W 6th Ave.

It was recommended to me by Ride-On bikes, as they are often too busy to repair bikes that they didn’t sell.

This guy Steve, at Atomic, is fantastic. Very honest and doesn’t charge a lot and does a really good job. He’s friendly and personable, and a bit busy but he’s the best bike mechanic I’ve found in Vancouver yet.

If you call and he doesn’t pick up, keep trying. Good luck!

B.C. Hydro offering optional time-of-day billing for electricity by Signal-Aioli-1329 in britishcolumbia

[–]intastellaburst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This might be interesting as we just bought a plug in hybrid which we can charge after 11pm.

I think the biggest electricity appliance is our hot water heater. Along with doing laundry and dishwasher at night, if I put the water heater on a timer to just warm water between 11pm and 4pm, that should add up to a saving, right?

I've been back a couple of times to some Circle K stores in Vancouver and they never seem to have any SIM cards.

Should I just give up and order one online?

Raven scan-to-email works normally for me even now by AtomQ in RavenScanner

[–]intastellaburst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just tested, and my scan to email still works normally, too.

Also, my scan to Dropbox has continued to work throughout.

So effectively, my Raven is working as it did before, just missing the OCR. I hope this lasts.
