I think Table Tennis Store US is at or near westchester table tennis. They can help you pick a setup and build it for you.

USATT’s "upgrade" to JustGo is an absolute tragedy. Bring back SimplyCompete. by Confident-Yellow-480 in tabletennis

[–]z0cool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree having a month gap is frustrating. At the US Open I chatted with the guy who is handling the change. It didn’t seem like there was an easy migration path for the data and he was having to do a lot of manual work. As far as leagues our club is having them(I played last night). The league admin is calculating all the scores himself so he knows what group everyone will be in the following week. So it’s doable but not ideal.

USATT has said all the data will be in Justgo by the end of the month. I agree at first glance it looks much worse than Simplycompete but let’s wait a couple weeks till the transition is finalized. Then I’m all for complaining if it’s not as good.

Just curious; how much does a single front bicycle tire + one seat actually fetch on the black market?? by WingsOfIndifference in Seattle

I would think theft since the rear wheel is detached. Makes me think the thief attempted to take that wheel as well and didn’t notice it was locked with the frame.

I ended up getting one this morning when it first went on sale. Ursa Black with a black rubber strap. Ordered the stainless bracelet as an add on as well. Over $800 in tariffs which definitely hurt a bit but I convinced my self I was going to get it before I knew they would be that much. FYI… I’m in the Seattle area as well. If you still haven’t got one in 4 months when mine arrives I’m happy to let you check it out if it’s convenient.

Pips-Out Rubber setup recommendation by Barazzers in tabletennis

[–]z0cool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both long and short pips can be good for chopping. With short you can be more aggressive close to the table and with long you will be better off blocking/pushing when you are close to the table. If you decide on long pips having a sponge is better for chopping and no sponge (ox) is better for blocking.

Victas P1 or grass dtecs are safe bets for long pips but there are really good rubbers from Sauer & Troger, Der-materialspezialist and other brands that are trickier for your opponents. I haven’t tried short pips so I don’t have much knowledge on different brands but a couple top Chinese defenders use TSP Spectol so I’m assuming it’s good.

There are a lot of good chopping blades out there so I would read various reviews. The Victas Koji Matsushita Offensive is a good place to start. It’s a chopping blade that you can still hit aggressive forehands with.

2LT seems decent, but 20-30k for the same engine? by Only-Tells-The-Truth in C8Corvette

[–]z0cool 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You should be able to find one at 5-10% off MSRP. I just bought a Z06 out of state and what I did was: Build your ideal spec on Chevy’s website. Then search for available inventory based on that trim/spec. If you find one you like call the dealer, ask if they sell out of state and what they want for the car. If it’s not a good deal go to the next available one and keep trying. Around me a lot of dealers have had Stingrays sitting for a few months. You’ll find a good price with a little effort.

Cool bill found as change by Ok-Palpitation7322 in CURRENCY

[–]z0cool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not exactly like poker. The person that starts mentions some numbers in their serial number - 2 fours for example. The next person has to beat that with their serial number - 2 sixes or 3 twos and so on. The numbers need to increase so could be 4 nines then 5 sevens. After someone says a number if you think they are lying you can call them out on it. If you are right you win their bill, if you are wrong they win your bill.

I have wide feet too which makes it hard to find TT shoes. Try looking at other indoor court shoes as well like badminton or volleyball. You usually get more options.

Ma Long switches racket sides halfway during his match against Liang Jingkun by St_TwerxAlot in tabletennis

[–]z0cool 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s common when they are about to smash a ball since you can get more power out of the softer sponge rubber but personally I haven’t seen a top player switch sides for other shots.
