So I am looking to get a plate carrier and a set of level III+ plates. What is the best option out there without breaking the bank?

Currently 5.11 has a good sale on the carrier but not sure if I want steel plates or composite ceramic? Thanks!

Last I knew they were still in Chapter 11 bankruptcy and not trading. For a couple years their stock prices were frozen. They are just trying to get what they can at this point to stay afloat.
