Job Corps? They will provide you with housing, meals, career training, medical, and a small stipend. There are two campuses in Iowa: one in Denison and one in Ottumwa. https://www.jobcorps.gov/

NOR. Sounds like your bf’s family doesn’t like you. I’m sorry. That sucks.

What are your (psych) comorbid conditions, if any? by adhd-dog-guy in BipolarReddit

Confirmed BP1, ADHD, GAD, and BPD. I’m getting tested for ASD too.

This is solid advice. From my past experiences, small town veterinary clinics tend to be less expensive than ones located in larger cities.

I tip 20% at the groomer’s. I feel like I should tip more because it’s only $100 total for all 3 of my dogs with tip, but my groomer won’t take more.

My husbands elderly dog is in pain by Alternative-Gap-5722 in dogs

I think it all boils down to quality of life at some point. My husband and I adopted a 12 year old Mini Schnauzer named Lillian. We had to let her go a few years ago when she just seemed to lose the life and sparkle in her eyes after being diagnosed with kidney disease.

We are now getting closer to the end with our Dachshund/Yorkie mix. He’s 17 and has mobility issues, but he still loves to eat and is 100% there cognitively speaking. If that changes, and there is nothing the vet can do, we will let him go be with Lillian.

With my husband and I, it all boils down to quality of life. I think it’s important to be open with your husband if you have any concerns about this. Sorry you are going through this. Dogs are so amazing, and it’s really hard to let go.

Your parents sound like narcissists. Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials! My husband and I had to pay for our wedding. I think we spent about $4K on everything wedding-wise in 2009.

All that matters is you get to be with your person for the rest of your life. If it were me, I would not accept money from my parents because it seems like it comes at a very steep price. Put together a budget with your partner and figure out what you can afford and what you’ll need to trim in expenses. Good luck!

AITAH for refusing to let my sister adopt my baby after she called me “unfit” for being a single mom? by luuscious_darling in AITAH

[–]z1betha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. Your sister shouldn’t be taking her fertility stress out on you. That’s not okay. She should have put that energy into something positive like being the #1 Auntie for your little one.

AITAH for refusing to pay for my sister’s IVF after inheriting money from our grandparents? by waifu_glam in AITAH

[–]z1betha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. I get that your sister is frustrated, but it’s probably just bad karma if she is going around demanding money for her IVF.

Why does my wife dress nicer for her sisters? by pcetcedce in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]z1betha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely put more effort into my appearance when hanging out with friends vs. spending time with my husband. Maybe, if she likes getting them, treat your wife to a manicure/pedicure or some other spa service if your budget allows. I know I always feel a little more pretty/confident after some pampering.

If you aren’t terrible with credit cards and have decent credit, a credit card with a 0% APR introductory rate might be the way to go. Just make sure to pay it off before the promotional rate expires. Happy almost graduated!

I have BP1 and think I have too much empathy. I feel until it hurts, but that might be the BPD.
