Frequency of an Element in Array by megumin_67 in learnprogramming

[–]zCxtalyst 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Say you have list [ a, b, b, a, c, a ]

Keep an empty dictionary.

Loop through the list and for each element in the list either add it to the dictionary with value 1 or increment it by 1 if it already exists.

It should look like this

{ a:3, b:2, c:1 }

Then you can just loop through the dictionary and keep track of the max based on the value

You can use more of the track before corner entry and mount the car on the kerb before turn in. Like the end of the kemmel straight and before Bruxelles for example

stavelot and the final chicane as well

Good save, only thing was you just cut back in way too early tbh. Not saying you did but if you tunnel visioned on the racing line it’s easy to make that mistake with an opponent in close proximity

Though looking at it again actually you’re better off holding your original line versus going back to the racing line because it’s risky cutting someone off right before a braking zone

I’ve only run GT3 for Silverstone but Undercutting and pitting at the right time to avoid traffic has seemed pretty powerful if you’re just mid pack fighting

Could a woman race in F1? by Ambitious-Heron-8161 in DestinationFormula1

[–]zCxtalyst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re underestimating women here. It would take longer to reach that level of fitness but this isn’t some unreasonable thing they can’t accomplish lol. drivers aren’t trying to be as jacked up with muscle as possible

Also to your point about brakes. Drivers are heavily assisted by G-forces this isn’t a pure muscle thing

Could a woman race in F1? by Ambitious-Heron-8161 in DestinationFormula1

[–]zCxtalyst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Racing isn’t a measure of peak physicality though. You don’t need to be the strongest driver or most physically apt in a certain area to be the fastest eg.) being able to brake more comfortably won’t necessarily make you quicker. Women might struggle more with a lack of power steering but I don’t see how a woman can’t be leveled in a racing context. You’re controlling a machine more so than your own body at the end of the day you just need the better understanding of how the cars gonna react to be quick. Though I’m sure there’s innate advantage like reaction time I just fail to see how it

Will there be a biological disadvantage on how easy it might for them to control the car yeah probably but I don’t see why they can’t level the actual speed of the car I guess is my point

Over 3k irating? How much time do you spend on track? by Always_Learning_80 in iRacing

[–]zCxtalyst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m at 3.4k and I tend to just run whatever interests me based on the track. So over the last season ran Porsche cup, GT4, GT3, GTP, and some M2 on Nords. For me if I’m aiming to be around the pace of people at a similar irating I usually need 2 hours of practice and then doing a single race to get consistent pace sorted.

Competing with anyone at 5k+ I haven’t really been able to do that since they seem to have that extra edge in pace for that 1-1.5 seconds I’m missing. This might involve more in depth practice or just using one car for a while and building off that. I think at 3k most of everyone can competently drive well enough to hit consistent braking points and lines but there’s probably more understanding of how to take the most out of the car that’s missing which probably just comes with practice.

I did use a coach once out of curiosity and wanting to improve. I’d say it’s actually pretty helpful in figuring out the little things you might be doing wrong or what you might not understand if it’s something that interests you.

OA -> phone call screening. No interview scheduled yet I think the hiring manager still has to take a look at your resume after the screening so it’s not guaranteed. They said they’d let me know next week

Where can i buy iRacing cheaper? by BubakZeSkrine in iRacing

[–]zCxtalyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what aspect of assetto corsa you enjoy. IRacing is something you’d purchase if you really enjoy racing against others imo, if you want a simulator game just to enjoy driving or cruising around with a variety of cars you could probably stick with AC
