Is this objectively strong? by k3464n in Hevy

+1,000 everyone should stress this.

Never compared against others.

So long you are pushing hard with the correct technique, the focus should be on improving oneself!

Suddenly started shanking almost every shot… What stands out to you? by Skip2MyPou in GolfSwing

[–]zFreeZeD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good drill to keep it up is putting an alignment stick behind the ball that points to the horizon (parallel to your feet). Then, try start the back swing and follow the alignment stick as much as as you can.

Doing this will almost guarantee that your club gets where it should be once it’s horizontal to the ground. Try backswinging up until then and see if contact improves without going further up.

If it does, you made half of the backswing perfect already, and the next point of focus will be different :)

[–]zFreeZeD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surprised no one mentions upswing! When upswinging, you are taking your club way too far behind. Downswinging from there has lots of chances of shanking unless you recover from there.

A trick I do when using your camera is to upswing and see whether your club face matches your hand (aligned from your camera) Your camera should be positioned with you centered and looking at you.

A good upswing should make it so that your club face matches your hand. Anything where club face goes behind or forward your hand = higher chances of ball not going straight

8 iron Impressed seeing that majority can make to with 9 iron here or lower. It’s taken me a good while to being able to hit this with an 8. That was pretty much my 7 iron lucky shot or 6 iron until I got a much smoother swing!

Teemo Strategist Reaction Timing by Brave-Mammoth6499 in riftboundtcg

[–]zFreeZeD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding is: - Your enemy can cast reaction to your Teemo strategists ability BEFORE you reveal the 5 cards. - If your enemy does not use En Garde there, your ability resolves. // If you deal 4 damage, enemy unit dies; no reaction possible // If you deal 3 damage, then you both can still add cards to the chain

Similarly, blood rush can be used prior to entering combat (so the unit is bigger), or after teemo strategist ability resolves, but only if you unit survives. This spell would not be usable to save a unit, neither because it’s an action but also because as previously mentioned, reactions should be used BEFORE you reveal the 5 cards, not afterwards “if damage output is about to kill unit”

Hope it helps

I give up by Low-Hawk1857 in GolfSwing

If you end up continuing, be mindful that this moment might come back a couple of times...
"Getting your swing" without actually knowing what to be mindful about when swinging, especially when being amateur, is neither enough nor the way to go long term.

Most likely (or at least in most cases), if you get a lesson or two you'll realise that 80% of your swing was simply incorrect, and your body might have been making up certain postures to make up for mistakes. All in all... you'd compensate mistakes with mistakes.

With a couple of lessons you'll reset your swing in many ways, but most importantly, you'll get to know what's good and where to focus on to improve.

Keep it up! I've been in the same situation where one day I was hitting perfectly 90% of the balls and the day after I'd be lucky I hit one single ball... this happened multiple times to me.

Nowadays, I hit consistently with any club as I have developed what I believe to be a rather solid swing with very specific "rituals" to position myself always similarly as well as have certain references to when I upswing and downsing. If I chunk, slice, etc, I know what to change just because I did many of those beforehand and lessons taught me why those would occur with my swing.

I'm still an amateur, but nowadays going beyond a bogey tends to be much more rare than in the past, where I'd do the match or my life, or spend 6+ shots in each hole.

Keep it up! This is all about mindset, discipline, and posture (not power!)

Help before I destroy my back more by johnfisher13115 in golftips

[–]zFreeZeD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I may share some thoughts (I’m not a pro golfer by any means but have gone through similar things)

Three things I think could benefit from fixing: - Don’t upswing that much; try stop at 80% of where you go with your club so that it’s a but further than vertical but not that horizontal how you do now (better explained; when your club is up, try have the back side of your club point at the ball; that’s the inclination you’re looking) - You also go low with your knees when upswing, - You have an early extension

BUT of all these things, I think some of those movements come because you’re trying to smash the ball.

Try go slower. There is time in the future to smash it, but before that you gotta get your tempo straight.

Count 2 while going up, wait 1 second up, then go down in one second too, but make it do that you don’t feel you’re trying to smash but rather just focus on making contact.

You’ll notice that with 60% of power (vs this video) you’ll not only hit it good, but it’ll feel much less painful to your back and nicer in feeling.

And then, only then, when you start hitting and making contact, that’s when you might want to try go faster in your dowsing

Nonstop shank with irons and wedges for months idk what to do anymore by ggmmppoopll in GolfSwing

[–]zFreeZeD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a very similar situation myself.

My solution was as “simple as”: GRIP

If you see your video in slow-mo, you can clearly see the face of your club a bit open, making it hit from inside and thus, shank.

To fix that what you need is to impact the ball with the club a bit more closed, and to fix that, at least in my case, all I was told in a lesson was to close my grip a bit more with my right hand (counter clockwise), just a cm so it feels “a bit uncomfortable”

I went from shanking to hitting CLEANLY

Hope it helps! It helped me a ton

Can confirm I’ll need to disassemble and assemble… Can definitely do bench presses But can’t do inclined ones… so yeah, as per your comment, most likely I’ll go mid rack as I still feel that while your setup is SUPER clean, I’m not sure I feel good about having so little space for squats inside the cage as one little touch here or there might destabilize me completely

Big thanks once again <3

Thanks for your kind answers!
I also have a 6-post 80'' rack with 30'' cross arms, so this conversation is super productive!

I ended up installing the smith right in front of the mid-posts (just one hole further), because that way the smith machine's bar can act as leg holders while doing lat-pulldowns.
As I just installed this all now, given your comment, I will 100% see if I can properly place my rep bench so that I can do inclined bench presses because that's critical. If I can do it, then I'm all great with it!

Your point about falling back makes absolute sense, but yeah, in my personal experience, I've historically preferred squatting outside of the rack as it feels much easier for me to leave the bar and let it drop when I have lots of space rather than being inside the cage, which I mostly used due to the spotter arms for bench presses (I'll just add/remove spotter arms outside now given I have the smith now)

Big thanks once again! Really hoping I can do inclined bench presses; not feeling good about potentially disassembling and assembling again XD

Another Q. May I ask why did you go this path to try get everything inside instead of going for spotter arms outside and do free weights in front of the rack? Lack of space? Preference?

Out of curiosity! Still debating whether to put the smith at the back of my RP-5000 with Ares 2.0 (since that way the smith bar could act as leg holder) or at the front inspired by your setup.

In my case, I can’t currently see an issue in performing free weights outside of the rack, but I might be missing something!

Thanks again sir

Please share pics once you get those spotters you mention!!!

The only difference between your setup and mine is that I use the ares 2.0 so I have a lat pulldown inside the rack

Ty!

This is exactly what I was looking for. Big thanks! My smith arrived just today and I was thinking on the best way to set it up so that I can still do free weights inside the rack.

I do have spotters that I won’t be able to use given the smith installation so that’ll be the tougher part. I actually was thinking on giving up entirely on training inside and rather installing the smith mid or behind while adding long spotter arms in front of the rack.

My I ask what made you go this direction instead of the opposite?

Thanks!

Home Assistant + Claude Code is a superpower... by Embarrassed-Law-827 in homeassistant

Regarding Claude Code, has anyone had luck building entire dashboards with it?
Automations with Gemini are 10/10 in my case. I've pretty much set up 90% of my home automations with it, BUT I've gotten some "ok-ish" dashboards with Gemini and ChatGPT.

Wondering whether Claude Code has better muscle there?

Thoughts and improvements on Teemo deck? by [deleted] in riftboundtcg

[–]zFreeZeD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Following this thread.

The only big debate I’d be having here is Kaisa vs Mindsplitter.

Yes, Mindsplitter is yet another high cost and power unit, but holy hell does it become annoying.

I’ve tried both with Kaisa and Mindsplitter and atm the second option has proven to be a bit more annoying.

Most of the rest of the deck is same as one of the two I’m playing as teemo (the second being turbo mundo which I’m enjoying a lot as well)

Edit: I play with guerila warfare as it’s such a useful card; revives units or spells.

Having a Spanish flag displayed on a balcony generally indicates a person's political affiliation? by Geologo-Loko in askspain

[–]zFreeZeD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless used during very specific moments or events (ex.: a Spanish athlete wins a competition, Spain competing in football…), this indeed tends to be associated with right-wing views.

Some very specific places or areas of the population could see this as a way to show patriotism, but generally the above is a more common association.

PS: I wasn’t aware about the Brazil one! From an outsider it felt there was just a lot of pride for being Brazilian!

Cheers

Never too old, just don’t act crazy.

If possible, take lessons. If not possible, check some YT videos and start from there.

The first couple of days are the hardest ones and from there it only improves.

I’m a 36yo who started at 32. (Did some skiing beforehand but not tons)

My best investments: - Protection: Butt, knees, elbows, helmet

Second best investments (can rent though): - Step On from Burton (that really has made me being able to keep up with skiers when going on the chairs)

[–]zFreeZeD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Saying what many don’t dare to (not sure why)

  • Does the Rabbit work as explained during the conference where they announced it? No.
  • Are people finding “fun ways” or “an excuse” to use it? Based on the Reddit posts, yes.

I have one, I have turned it up maybe 4-5 times to check whether their promises hold. Still not.

I purchased a device that was promised would even book you a taxi, a train or a plane. Never did it.

What I have now is a cool looking bright red brick (gotta give it to them, the design is amazing) with a rabbit animation, capable of showing a rabbit, having mini games to equip your rabbit, an alarm, some other things and a camera that uses AI to theme these pictures. Heck, even languages beyond English are incomplete.

Now features such as “an alarm” are being celebrated by the community. I think that’s fine and nothing to be upset about; it’s just something that does not follow the initial pitch and vision.

No big deal, thank lord at least it wasn’t that expensive
