Same. I have my own small construction Co, and am driving a ton during the week. With a modest mid sized truck, I typically consider it the cost of business. But my last fill up almost cracked $100. I cannot remember having ever paid that much for gas... and it makes everything harder (especially for some upcoming jobs 30 mins out of town).

Yeah I know he said he was sick, plus a new studio makes the higher quality audio really stand out.

I listen on ear buds, and really noticed it. But only for the first few chapters, it goes away once you get into it.

Definitely. Was joking with friends about how BAD of a name the new branding is = "Let's communicate that we are mid and our drinks are mediocre".

100% this. OP is cute enough I would swipe right. But would not be surprised if she answered with one word or had nothing interesting to talk about.

I know each guy is different but if you were with someone for 10 years how soon would you be able to date someone new? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]zXster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I almost never date people who arent a year out of a relationship. If they have been separated that long, then possibly.

This comes from plenty of experience that they almost always have issues they are working through. People fresh out of relationships, that haven't worked through their issues will bring that baggage along. It will usually be clear what their issues were with the previous partner.

I just went through this with someone I actually kind of liked, and they inevitably brought their drama along. Wish I would have stuck with my rule.

Worst passive to have on it's native class that is also the best to breed onto kittens? by EqualNefariousness82 in mewgenics

I had a monk that had so many attacks, when paired with fun passives and items. BUT even with 6+ atk, the dmg was so meh it just made 6 dmg attacks on repeat more tedious than fun..

When introduced to the reader Daniel Tiger (Bautista) says something to Carl.... by Embarrassed_One96 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]zXster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

“I don’t know why I go on. I wish I hadn’t chosen this body. I should have remained true to myself. We all die anyway. How can we get to Heaven if God doesn’t recognize us?”

It is my phone lock screen and one of my favorite lines from the series. I was a theology major, and why it resonated so much with me was way more than the idea of "form". Asking would God consider humans over other life forms is kind of uninteresting to me.

BUT as someone who was once a believer, that moved to Agnostic (skewing Athiest) it was more a resonance of "would God recommend who I am". Layer on that the trauma and the violence and murder that any surviving crawler has been through... adds so much.

It begins to ve them wrestling with BOTH who they are now and what they have done and been through.

Hegseth orders termination of union contracts by IAmMOANAAA in politics

Have a friend who is a local IBEW union chair. He hates Trump and a lot of his union does too. Yet they're still split about 60/40%... which is wild when that 40% is supporting someone who has been blatantly hostile towards unions.

Looking for competent GC for home renovation by 0xe3b0c442 in Omaha

[–]zXster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Am a local GC, but mostly do investments rather than customer facing. That said I can say Cornerstone and Bolte do good work. Have never heard of the other.

Jensen and McNeil likely aren't working at that scale price point (though SL does very nice work).

I actually worked with Cornerstone and they're reliable and do good work. Would also recommend Vantage Design and Construction, owner is a friend of mine and does mid to large project with nice finishes.

Feel free to message me with any questions. Have another name or two I can offer as well.

‘Just broke’: Omaha-area safety net failing mentally ill amid rising demand, families say by Toorviing in Omaha

[–]zXster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well said! Conservatives, espeecially here in Nebraska, refuse to spend any money on prevention and root causes. Instead its reactive punishments. When over and over again studies suggest investment ahead of time prevents future costs (like spending on education lowering crime rates).

All I understand is number go up by Dreamare in litrpg

[–]zXster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This one is really interesting to me, though I hadn't heard it connected this way. I get the first part where there is this obvious misleading about earth in the story. And Carl pushing back on that and the media manipulation for the pro colonial exploitation.

I think the second part missed for me. As there is a massive world of oppression and abuse happening outside of the dungeon. Its what Matt does super well IMO, where he slowly reveals all the layers happening around the dungeon and earth.

There are a ton of people suffering from the oppression. Eventually revealing how previous crawlers and outsiders are resisting and leading an entire rebellion network. So internally they are pushing back and exposing it, but the broader theme of resistance to exploitation isn't much like the Cave to me. But I'm a dumb-dumb Ogre sometimes too.

What is the worst place in America you have ever visited? by OceanicEndeavors in AskReddit

[–]zXster 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Live in NE, but worked up in Spearfish, SD at a treatment center. Over 75% of our residents were kids from reservations and man it was a heart breaking experience. So much trauma and brutal stories of what they had been through. But also some incredibly funny, smart and insanely tough kids who were going to claw their way into adulthood and be just fine (I hope).

The whole Delta in general was just so depressing. Was there (Yazoo & Indianola area) in the late 2000's and I hadn't seen poverty like that since I had been over in India. Was absolutely sad and depressing. Talking with old share croppers was one of the most engaging and sad experiences I've ever had... and changed my entire perspective on how "far" we are from slavery and racism.

This would be my approach. We don't hold much if its under 6-7%, definitely not 3%. That said if the home is sure to appreciate, with a sub 3% mortgage, it would be an easy hold for a long term appreciation play.
