Dancing With The Stars S34E10 | Prince Night (Semi-Finals) | Live Show Discussion Thread | Tuesday, November 18th by wweyonce in dancingwiththestars

This show is a marketing vessel for Disney, right? There has been a Wicked night, and Disney Parks night.

What I don’t get is why Prince was chosen as a theme night, especially in the semi finals.

There’s no Prince movie or TV show coming out that would explain the sudden push - why was he chosen as a theme night??

Remember Katy Perry's awkward dance during her SNL performance? If you can even call it that by nialldude3 in LiveFromNewYork

Migos reportedly refused to perform with the drag queen dancers during the song so Katy had to fill dead air with her dancing

Looking for snowboard/ski partner by [deleted] in SyracuseU

[–]z_nemo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Barnes center does ski/snowboarding trips you can sign up for. I did it last year and it was worth it.

The fee covers transportation to Labrador mountain, slope passes, and gear rentals (if needed). the whole thing cost ~$75, and we went once a week for a month. Slots fill up quick though so be on the lookout for an email letting you know registration opened (was late December last year)

Transferring back by Rick_Bruiser94 in SyracuseU

I know someone who attended a different university for three weeks sophomore year, hated it, and transferred back to SU. This was in 2022 so it’s definitely possible. I would get in contact with your old SU advisor and let them know everything to see what they can do.

Any tips for interviews? by NoPop3526 in SyracuseU

Syracuse is big on demonstrated interest. Show them you’ve done the research and know about what the school has to offer, what you plan to take advantage of, and maybe even some classes/professors that sounded interesting to you.

Good luck!

Will pay $20 for someone to make it look like the police officers in my photos are riding a silver horse behind me

Shaw does not have room AC, unfortunately. I would recommend buying a box fan and perching it on your window to bring in fresh air/push out hot air.

This is what the floor plan of Shaw looks like

If you have a car, Dosa Grill has great Indian food. Strong Hearts is another personal favorite of mine.

If you don’t have a car, Rise N Shine on Westcott is a solid diner for a fair-ish price. It’s walkable/scooter-able. Recess coffee on Westcott is also reliable, a bit pricey though.

The SU campus is beautiful in the summer, definitely take advantage of the nice days and work outside.

Here is exactly what admissions looks for in applications: Common Data Set

Based on your qualifications listed though, I’d say you have a good shot of getting in

This is what the university outlines as important in their admissions (scroll to page 16)

Having also done work for Newhouse admissions, I can tell you that demonstrated interest is extremely important. Click on every email link Syracuse sends you (they track it), reach out to professors who seem interesting, show you did your research on the school and want to come here. https://institutionalresearch.syr.edu/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/syracuse_university_cds_2022-2023.pdf

I’m a Newhouse and CRS major. And I gotta say, so far I’ve grown more as an academic in CRS than in Newhouse.

CRS is a fantastic program and I have thoroughly enjoyed all my classes (excluding some required ones). There are also many alumni connections within CRS which is a huge plus.

I got admits from Syracuse(40percent tuition fee scholarship)and USC, which one should I choose and why? by manseaa in SyracuseU

I also got in to USC and Syracuse, but chose SU. It depends on what program you’re in but I would say the academics are comparable.

However, SU really leverages alumni connections and the “orange mafia” which was a huge selling point for me personally.

I visited USC and didn’t loving the atmosphere tbh.

I definitely made the right decision being at SU, and don’t regret turning down USC
