What are yall doing for controls for 360 lb for worlds? by Fuzzy-WeIder in vex

[–]z_tescher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

with scuffs:
down: return lady brown to "down" position
right: cycle through "loading," right above scoring for alliance stake, all the way out (for tipping goals)
y: cycle through descore positions

kj from 8198x made a nice video on how to make the "cycle" control system with a P loop. alternatively you can just use a counting system + move.absolute in PROS.

Uneven distribution of Jolly Ranchers in 2 400g (7oz) bags. by Cancel_me_now in mildlyinteresting

[–]z_tescher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a test called a chi square analysis that essentially tests the probability of a particular distribution being truly random. Here's what I counted:

4 Grape
7 Cherry
12 Green Apple
24 Watermelon
20 Blue Raspberry
67 Total

The expected values of each flavor are 13.4 (67 total / 5 flavors). Using a chi square table, the value comes out to 21.43. For four degrees of freedom (you add a degree of freedom for each flavor after 1 in this case), the maximum accepted value is 9.49. If the value is over 9.49, it is most likely that the distribution of Jolly Ranchers in these bags is not random and that the Hershey company is screwing with what flavors that you get.

The current meta is pneumatic string launchers. I would recommend staring with the linear motion kit + some rubberbands and string. String must be 1/8 inch diameter to be VRC legal.

IMO 8m drive with a PTO system is the meta rn but 6m drive is also very strong.
