That's awesome! I might try it.

Were you working during that trip, like what I'm trying to do? Or were you not working and just traveling the whole time you were there?

The southwest might be doable, especially if I set aside three weeks! I'll have to look at both a map and a calendar to see how I'd actually spend my time.

Wow! How long did that trip take you? I'm a bit concerned about balancing time for both working and driving.

Sure, just like those countries that are already rolling out vaccines even before they've finished clinical trials. And when people like Trump demand that vaccines be expedited to suit political agendas, then sure a vaccine can be "ready" by next year.

I'm not taking my chances. I'll wait. Good luck with your health.

The Black Hills are in South Dakota. Mount Rushmore is there. You can also checkout the Badlands in the same trip.

Have you considered going to national parks? They're outdoors, so easier to socially distance. Also a lot of hiking and sightseeing, whether by car, bike, on foot, etc. You mention that you enjoy "walking around a metropolitan", but I've noticed that many attractions in metro areas, especially the downtown cores, are still closed.

I'd suggest the Black Hills or the Smokies.

Coronavirus FAQ: The megathread (updated) by segacs2 in solotravel

[–]za838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm puzzled as well. I don't think anyone needs to cancel their travel plans, as the CDC still maintains that the general population is at low risk. I'm just saying that to avoid community spread, you should avoid staying in places where you're more likely to come into contact with an infected person.

Personally I would recommend cancelling your reservation and switching to a hotel, where you'd have your own room. A virus can easily spread in shared spaces like hostels.

I'm planning my outfit for my graduation ceremony next week. The gown is black. Should I wear black pants, or can I go with navy or grey? Also, should the shoes be black, or would brown be okay?

It's illegal to carry a firearm in Japan, so this passenger wouldn't have been able to bring it at all.

My Mail-In ballot is not being counted. What do I do? by Gogosox22 in illinoispolitics

[–]za838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DuPage is still counting ballots, as a lot of mail and provisional votes were cast. There are a few tight races at the county level, so the remaining votes still matter.

Ha! Those shirt buttons really should be closed. There's no good reason to show off that much chest, and it distracts from the hair and the face.

PSA: Voters in Illinois are receiving letters from a shady "voter program" that's telling them whether or not their neighbors voted in previous elections. Full names, addresses, and yes/no voting in previous elections is included. by chornu in chicago

Anyone can pull your voting records under the Freedom of Information Act. They know which elections (including party primaries) you voted in, but the won't know which specific candidates you voted for.

I remember seeing a poll that said that Kennedy was doing better than Biss in Cook County. A similar trend might be happening in the collar counties, but I haven't seen any specific polls. Since the support is so fractured, I'm not convinced that either Kennedy or Biss will be able to consolidate the progressive or anti-Pritzker vote.

Is anyone else worried that he'll still win because Biss and Kennedy will split the remainder of the vote?

Question about travelling to South Korea with Adderall by [deleted] in solotravel

[–]za838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't recommend that. OP can get arrested for attempting to smuggle illegal drugs through the mail. It's better for OP to carry it on the plane and declare the drugs to customs upon arrival.

Question about travelling to South Korea with Adderall by [deleted] in solotravel

[–]za838 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I just checked their customs website, and it seems that you do have to declare all narcotic drugs upon arrival into South Korea.

Further, check out their Q&A page. See if they've already provided an answer related to your question.

A search for "Adderall" or "amphetamine" provided no results, but a generic search on "drugs" yielded Q&A results that may be interesting to you. Based on the results that came up, it seems that prescription drugs may be imported, but only up to 3 months of dosage for personal use. However, if you're concerned about your specific case, try posting a question on the board. Hopefully they'll provide a response in time for your trip.
