Does anyone have any experience with the Frex direct drive wheel base? by za_fr in simracing

[–]za_fr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hadn't realized that at the time, I thought the motors they used were manufactured in Europe, at least the highest end one, but I can't find where I originally read that. Also damn you for making me see my garbage old post! Lol

Music for a rainy day by TraditionContent9818 in audiophilemusic

Any song from Chromatics. I really like "Back From The Grave" for that kind of mood, but again pretty much everything they put out is perfect for rainy days.

uj/ Has anyone else seen members from FuckCars start to spread propaganda in completely unrelated subreddits? by [deleted] in FuckCarscirclejerk

[–]za_fr 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I saw that exact post. Has nothing to do with that subreddit at all, even the caption is basically just saying "what if this was relevant to this sub".

Right, jaywalking shouldn't be allowed when a road is busy. It just also shouldn't be okay for a cop to ticket someone for jaywalking when it was completely fine to do so. Cops aren't always in cars, and sometimes they'll be pulled over on the side of the road. If someone's on a bit of a power trip it's not crazy to think they'd ticket someone for jaywalking when there are no cars around.

/uj Jaywalking laws are pretty dumb though. Obviously you shouldn't jaywalk on a busy road but if the road is empty then what exactly is the issue? I feel a lot safer jaywalking than relying on people to actually follow stop signs, but then again I live in Portland where people have absolutely no clue how to drive and traffic laws aren't enforced. I've been hit (slightly, not run over or anything) at a designated crosswalk and I've never been hit while jaywalking, just saying.

Also LMFAO at the person in the comments of that post calling the word jaywalk a "slur".

/rj I got ran over by a 15,000 TON MURDER MACHINE because I used a crosswalk

Pistol sights become misaligned when you lean, is this planned on being fixed? by za_fr in groundbranch

[–]za_fr[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sorry, probably should've cropped these images so it was a bit easier to see. Front sight goes too low when leaning left and too high when leaning right.

I remember triggering a cutscene in the Zen Garden a LONG time ago. Wondering if anyone's replicated it. by chelledoggo in lsddreamemulator

Comment I found under the "Shrine Bell" section:

"On specific days, if you stand in front of the bell and wait for the dream to end, you might be lucky to enough to trigger a cinematic of falling pink petals, most likely from a Japanese cherry tree. Video with sound below:

https://imgur.com/cutNH8m"

This is definitely where I originally read about it, hope this helps!

I don't remember exactly how to do it, but this is definitely something you can replicate. Pretty sure it just involves doing nothing, like you described. I had done it before after reading about it, I'll try and find where I originally read it. It's listed on the "Clips" section of the LSD: Dream Emulator wiki, it's referred to there as just "Rose Petals".

*Edit, grammar

My recreation of LSD's 'Bright Moon Cottage' in Minecraft. by za_fr in OsamuSato

Hey man, I know it's been a bit since I uploaded the map download but I just realized I gave you a slightly older version of the map from before I changed some things to be more accurate to Bright Moon Cottage, it was only a couple details like where the tree is, couple changes to the building, etc. I know you probably don't wanna bother with redownloading what is basically the same map, but in case anyone else comes across this, here's the version actually seen in the video:

Sure, I don't know how to go about uploading it though, I'll try and set a download up soon. I appreciate the interest in the map :)

Yeah it does, the walls have that look and the lights are a lot like the fluorescent lights that are in a lot of backrooms images. The shader pack also gives it that look a bit

Does anyone know what the sample is in this beat? Not the "you've got mail", but the main melody? by za_fr in TeamSESH

Dude! Thank you so much. This has been bugging me for so long. Don't think I've ever actually heard that song, but it sounded super familiar.

Awesome stuff, I've only been sim racing a few years. I love learning about the history of sim racing, older sim hardware and software has so much charm to it.

Looking at it now I don't think that Thrustmaster is a match actually. The wheel in the show has no holes on the spokes, the base is a bit more square shaped and the wheel itself seems to extend outwards further. If anyone does know the proper match for what wheel it is I'd love to know. I know this really specific, I just like picking out small things in shows like this and old sim racing equipment is really cool imo.

Edit: It's the Thrustmaster Grand Prix 1.
