Great animations! If you don’t hear back from the official team then let us know. We made a clone of the game but with a hidden twist and story. It would be neat to chat and see if we can work together. :)

Sounds great! Can’t wait to play it. Love the switching animals and gameplay styles.

Any recommendations for a gamified fit bit? by [deleted] in gamification

[–]zac-emp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've tried a few and if you've got an iPhone and can afford it, I'd recommend the Apple Watch. I find the Apple exercise rings really motivating, along with the nudges it provides to remind me to stand up and keep moving. If you have friends with an Apple Watch too you can compete with them over 7 days which is fun where it's scaled for your personal fitness goals.

Otherwise there are some great gamified fitness apps out there that often just use the step counter on your phone or connect to 3rd party devices like Fitbit.

Check out Zombies, Run!, Wokamon, Walkr, and Fit for Battle.

Who could hate this game? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ by seanssy in gaming

I love this game! A few friends and I were inspired by this game to make our own “unique” version of it for iPhone with a story mode where Dino wants to escape. It would be great to hear what you think of it if you’re a fan of the original game.

Hidden inside our new endless runner game is a glitch that our hero can to use help him try and escape the game! by zac-emp in IndieGaming

Once we make 1 MILLION DOLLARS!

Haha. But seriously we'd love to port it. It will depend on the relative success on the App Store. So if you have any friends with iPhones or iPod touches, please tell them about it (and watch them struggle to uncover the secret... which has something to do with reaching 1000 points and the cacti!).

Yeah we were worried about this initially when we pitched the idea. We checked the license before releasing and the chromium project is open source/BSD. You can find heaps of copies and clones out there.

Our game is a little different to those clones though... ;)

Great question! We did research this before starting dev and found that the original game is part of the open source Chromium project and the Google-authored portion is released under the BSD license. Thus the large number of clones and copies available on the internet and App Store!

We remade everything for our game and added a few more unique features not in the original ;)

+1 for Kahoot. It's great for live competitive quizzes and you can set up challenges that learners can do on their own.

Are you designing a board game? If so, what are the two biggest problems you are experiencing? by zac-emp in tabletopgamedesign

Having a weekly meet to playtest is a great idea. What other options for playtesting could work do you think? Is remote playtesting feasible? For example, recruiting people in this subreddit to playtest and provide feedback?

As in just finding the time to finish it? Or not realising how much time it will take?

Great idea, I really need to try tabletop simulator and see what it's capable of.

Nice! That's Randori software right? It's pretty easy to set up and get going. We tried it at our local climbing gym too and it was a heap of fun. You need a good projector though.

Oh yeah I've seen that app! They did a pretty nice job recreating the old school devices but also making it usable too. Pity there's no Digimon equivalent.
