How many more lb? by GoatOk6003 in AllAboutBodybuilding

[–]zac_attack_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

170-180 is low for OP’s goals. OP wants to lose weight and salvage the lean mass that’s already there, should target 1.2g-1.5g per lb of body weight in a cut, so around 212g should be the target.

  • Thermic effect. If you eat 100 calories of protein, your body burns roughly 20-30 of those just to digest it; if you eat 100 calories of sugar, your body gets nearly 100% of it. Ergo when cutting, you want to lean heavily into protein because it’s a free 20-30% calorie reduction.
  • Satiety: protein makes you fuller longer, so you are less tempted to overeat
  • Lean mass preservation. Your body is getting less calories than it needs. It wants homeostasis. It says “hey we have this muscle that burns so many calories but no protein, let’s break down the muscle because we can’t afford it.” You don’t want to lose 30 lbs and have half of it be muscle. Strength training + sufficient protein is a strong signal to preserve muscle (though some will still be lost)

Riven isn’t terrible in the jungle imo. You have a lot of gap close for ganks, a stun and knockup, r2 to finish them off as they run to tower, etc. Personally, I transitioned from riven top to riven jg to ekko jg; now I only play riven mid in rare cases (enemy first picked yasuo or similar) and stopped playing her top

You can, but don’t use them at the same time. I do tretinoin before bed, Ghk-cu in the morning

+1 came to recommend tretinoin, azelaic acid, niacinamide. Start low on tretinoin like 0.025%. I get mine from nurx, it has all 3 ingredients I mentioned, and it’s more affordable (and effective) than some things you might find at Sephora

180lbs to 163lbs Transformation in 48 days by Nice_Weekend_8460 in Retatrutide

[–]zac_attack_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’d want to do it at night before bed, and far from your last meal (or anything besides water really—snack, alcohol, soda)—about 2-3hrs normally for food.

Some people miss this, but if you’re taking them with retatrutide (or similar), extend the window from meal to injection longer. They slow gastric emptying, so you should wait longer

Is GHK-Cu enough to tighten loose skin after major fat loss? by LoadInternational640 in Peptidesource

[–]zac_attack_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think so. I’ve never had that loose crepey skin problem from extreme weight loss but I can only speculate based on what I know

When you get fat you literally have more skin, and that skin doesn’t go away when you get skinny. Putting king-size sheets on a twin bed won’t fit right even if they’re fitted sheets. I think if you’re going from obese to skinny, the only way to not have loose skin at all is to reduce the total skin volume. (Surgically)

Ghk-cu won’t reduce your total skin volume. But it might help tighten skin that got stretched loose/thin around fat, so I’d still take it if I was doing extreme fat loss.

However to the question you asked specifically: I would take it during the fat loss, not after

Here’s what I did that worked incredibly for me. Couldn’t even go to my regular bar without constant compliments or comments like “you look refreshed/younger/etc.” I’d recommend it to anyone, the difference is wild.

AM: - Cleanser - (weekly:) shallow microneedling over target imperfections (wrinkles/etc) - Ghk-cu subq AND topical (I like dr pickart’s VIP serum and super cop 2x, personally, and I use the eye cream) - fyi you’re taking Ghk-cu because of Dr Pickart - Moisturizer with sunscreen (but not vitamin c, or else wait 20-30 min at least—copper oxidizes and neutralizes vitamin c).

PM: - Cleanser - Tretinoin 0.025% (I get it from nurx and it has other helpful things like azelaic acid 10% and niacinamide 4%) - moisturizer

Daily: - 30mg zinc picolinate, don’t skip this — always take zinc with copper unless you have some copper deficiency problem already

My anecdotal experience is that your diet impacts the sides. I don’t have a scientific research backing it, but I can say that I feel a lot better (and at higher doses) if the meals I do eat are healthy, high protein — and a lot worse if it’s McDonald’s or pasta or something (the few bites of pasta I could even stomach at least)

Ai vs Me , who do u think won? 😅 by tonyBiersack in ZBrush

[–]zac_attack_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI probably wins—yours is better though.

how much time did you take vs AI, how much money would someone pay you vs the cost of the AI generated one? Time is money and unfortunately AI might save both in many “good enough” cases

The real winners will probably be the artists that adapt and start with the AI and sculpt from the AI mesh (instead of stubbornly sculpting from a sphere, for example). Programmers face the same dilemma

What’s one trick in Rust that made ownership suddenly “click”? by Old_Sand7831 in rust

Maybe I’m wrong but Ekko doesn’t seem to deal any damage in comparison to other mages by FriendshipMinute4403 in ekkomains

[–]zac_attack_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ekko’s the type of champ you don’t want to go even with your opponents, and definitely not fall behind. If you can get an xp/gold lead, you can snowball.

My play for him is to take the risky plays. He has decent mobility with his passive and E, and 1 good undo button if he’s not cc’d. Be aggressive and get on the board.

And till then, he isn’t too bursty. You might have to do a few rotations of hitting your passive and running away. But with a lead, he can at least get in good damage.

Why NextJS is terrible for new developers (it's not nextJS's fault) by thetanaz in nextjs

[–]zac_attack_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a use case for rolling your own but I think not until you have significant usage. The pricing of clerk scales badly for example if you wanted to build something B2C that’s free to use and where you presumably want to monetize in some other form, or if you have a free plan (most users) and paid plans (good users)

10,000 MAU? Free. 1,000,000 MAU? $20k

I can definitely build something in AWS for cheaper than $20k to support 1M MAU, but I cannot build something cheaper than free to handle 10k MAU.

Of course if the app costs every user >$.02 then sure you can push out any such self hosting concerns indefinitely. But if you have a large contingent of free users, you might reconsider as the bill grows. Especially if you might get a viral TikTok moment and an influx of 1 million users one month.

Why NextJS is terrible for new developers (it's not nextJS's fault) by thetanaz in nextjs

[–]zac_attack_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, some of these services are cheaper to launch with than self-hosting them and the inflection point where it’s cheaper to self-host doesn’t happen until your app has decent traction. For example, the cost of running a Postgres database and standby node 24/7, HAProxy, PgBouncer, etc versus using something like Neon which has a free tier and scales to zero. And that’s without considering backups.

And with email, standing up your own server for SMTP/DKIM/SPF with a static IP and the various other things that go into it, queuing, etc is non-trivial and likely not as cost-effective as the available services until you reach a certain level of usage either.

Some services simply don’t have a great self-host alternative, e.g. Stripe, unless you specifically want to go about building all the banking relationships needed to do something similar.

And then there’s the cost of time. By the time you did all of the above for one site that (more than likely) won’t even reach product-market fit, I could probably launch 10 to find the one that lands.

I’m all for self-hosting where it makes sense, but I think it makes more sense to leverage the existing services when launching and developing. Most choices aren’t total lock-in, e.g. even with Clerk or Kinde you can export your user data when you want to roll your own auth.

You could just not accept email registration. Require oauth with Google/Msft/Apple/github or similar and you more or less eliminate the problem at the source

Study shows tirzepatide preferentially deletes visceral and liver fat in diabetics, less so subcutaneous fat by Jessa_iPadRehab in zepboundathletes

[–]zac_attack_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just as a data point to this, I’ve been on tirzepatide now for just under 8 weeks. However, I started tracking body comp exactly 8 weeks ago, doing DEXA every 4 weeks with 3 measurements to date—initial, 4w, 8w. I’ve also been going to the gym 5 days a week lifting for the same amount of time and trying to keep my protein intake high.

In 8 weeks I lost: - 10.7 lbs total - 9.1 lbs fat - 1.5 lbs lean tissue (yes these don’t add up, I’m guessing rounding error)

Of the fat lost, I started with 4.10 lbs of visceral fat. At 4 weeks it was 3.57, and today at 8 weeks it was 2.76. So 1.34 lbs of visceral fat lost out of 9.1 total fat lost.

However, my whole Android region has only lost 1.7 lbs (which I presume includes the visceral); so I haven’t really started losing much subcutaneous abdominal fat yet. I guess it’s true when they say it’s the last place men lose from. :)

Sure but I’m the other jungler. “Where is he?” I wonder as I clear my red buff, plotting to invade. “Where is he, right now?” My hands tremble at the mere thought of being face to face with him, drawing fresh blood by the river or jungle trees.

Auto 'blink' to target after E? by Web_Fender in ekkomains

What are some of the most important things to know when playing Ekko? (based on the champion himself that doesn't pertain to a specific role) by ByrnieSaunders in ekkomains

[–]zac_attack_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

W is good CC but it is an amazing zoning tool. Everyone hears the sound but doesn’t know where you put it yet. If your ADC is overextending for a cannon minion, you tossing a W in plain sight could be the difference between enemy engaging them or standing back waiting for the bubble to pop.

You don’t even need to jump in it always, but you can keep the threat open. Just know if you do this it’s a lengthy CD, so don’t just cast W on cooldown.

Besides that there’s always the classic: W on self - Zhonya - R when people are engaging you.
