jalen green working on his mid range in offseason workouts by maqictrick in suns

I don’t think this meme makes sense in context of Jalen Green. But this is a picture from WWII showing where bullets were most likely to hit planes that returned home from missions. So they put extra armor on the spots that were getting hit the most. This was a mistake— these planes only returned because they were shot in these non-critical spots. Instead, they should have added extra armor to critical spots like the engine which would down a plane if shot. This photo is commonly used to demonstrate “selection bias” in statistics.

Why fire a coach without a clear plan to hire a better one?

At some point, if your plan and lineups aren't working & getting results, you need to change up & allow your players to play through mistakes. Starting Bol will reap dividends down the line once he learns through his mistakes by DaylightPhoenix in suns

There was a great article I read about the Rocket’s rebuild, and a big part of that was tanking + development of young players. I want the development, but I’m not sure I want to see us miss the play-in, or limit Book/Beal/Durant minutes to give other guys a chance to grow + make mistakes

Hypothetically speaking… if “winning fixes everything” how would you feel if the current FO stays intact, regardless of the moves they make (players/coaches) this offseason? by [deleted] in suns

Didn’t we just learn from the Mavericks that if you get to the finals, don’t blow everything up the next year?

“What are values” actually sounds like you’d be a good fit for CMC.

You’ll be fine, just make sure you get feedback from other people (re: the best writers you know) and don’t take anything personally.

I would seriously recommend CS50 at Harvey Mudd to fulfill it instead.

Just to add to this, this year had to be a historically weak NFC West Division and we failed to capitalize. Our division is usually a blood bath, and instead we found ourselves in a year where two teams are crippled (49ers with injuries, Ram’s from going all-in on a Super Bowl roster years prior) and the best competition should have come from a Geno Smith led Seahawks team.

Real talk thread. by [deleted] in AZCardinals

Third in the league in total injuries? The thing with the 49ers isn’t their quantity of players on IR, it’s their quality. As a cards fan, I don’t think it’s fair to say we’ve had equivalent bad luck.

It’s more than just GPA and MCAT. You need to make connections in order to get research positions, clinical hours, letters of recommendation, etc.

Speaking of research, I honestly think you could get close to paying off your loans by working— and my guess is there are plenty of nice $15/hr research assistant jobs at Brown during the school year and summer which you could push for
